No i didn’t see the OG movie. I did watch the first two seasons and was mildly entertained enough to watch the third.

The fact of the matter is that me personally, i’m starved for black content. Atlanta isn’t on this year. Insecure isn’t on this year. Grown-ish is nothing more than diet Different World, and she’s gotta have it just got cancelled.

I’m not gonna bash black homosexual directors, i’m not trying to bash ANY black creative that is lucky enough to get some goddamn black faces on my television screen. But the message of this third season doesn’t sit right with me. This shyt is written, directed, and produced by BLACK PEOPLE and i’m STILL being inundated with white people’s victimization. fukk THAT. I do not CARE about exploring the supposed problems of our historical oppressors. Ima spoiler the major issue I have for those still watching

Blair Underwood’s character is a respected and well liked, “pro-black” (in a gentleman’s way, non militant) professor. He gets his Cosby on and sexually assaults one of the white students so the all black student caucus bands together to take him down

At the the end of the day the victimization of a white character, in a show called DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, which supposedly calls out the hypocrisy of white’s claiming victimization at the hands of the black minority, is given paramount importance. I WILL NOT rock with that.
Agreed.

Just like that bull shyt “boomerang” remake.

They ALWAYS find a way to make a Black man an assaulter.

Atlanta is the only show I really think is groundbreaking and actually doesn’t paint black men as monsters.

What’s up with all the black girls on here fukking white men :gucci: Not only is it unrealistic that a bunch of pro-black sisters are all sleeping with white boys, black women would have a serious problem if there was a tv show based on School Daze and A Different World and three of the black male characters had white girlfriends.

I watched the first 2 seasons for entertainment purposes, and always kept my eyes open for any bullshyt, but they really ramped up the propaganda this season. With the election cycle heating up in a few months, next season will have a lot more co-opting of other groups that they were setting up this season. White women, Hispanics, AA v. Africans. Not to mention the whole fiasco with the professor (it honestly should have been Coco and her professor, as it's recorded that minority sexual assault victims go unheard much more than white women). As one poster put it, the season literally ended with a black man saying sorry to a white woman.

Gabe pretty much was the white savior role as the de facto head of the student union to fight TA funding. They did do a good job of highlighting the "Five Dollar Indian" trick that a lot of whites pull.

The whole secret society angle from last season was basically thrown out, which sucked as they could have really ran with that.

Didn't really mind the gay stuff, but the whole HIV storyline involving two black men had me looking side-eyed,as it's played out (it's 2019, not 1985) and you'll never really see a TV show centered around gay whites involve an HIV storyline :mjpls:

Like I said, in this day and age, I understand that media is propaganda by and far, so this was purely entertainment for me. After a season of shoehorning non-black people struggles in a shoe called "Dear White People", this probably be the last I watch of this, as it'll only go downhill with the current zeitgeist.

Some other things I noticed.

-The Dear White People broadcast has been taken over by Latinos, kind of like how presidential candidates are pining for Latino voters over Black voters.

-The Patische tokenism arc. Lot of us don't realize when we're being used as a get out of jail free card for whites to say greasy things.

It's been like this breh and is only increasing, on both sides, male and female.
Plus, these shows cater and pander to blue check bourgeoise black Twitter.

Sam is the analog of them all.

Yea I know...I had a bad taste in my mouth since S1 with Sam being Ms. Pro-Black but, dating a rich white dude. She been corny in my eyes.

But this season, you got Coco, Sam and the Brooke chick fukking white dudes.

Black women would have an UPROAR if there was a "black show" with three black guys fukking pawgs :mjlol:

This show is definitely Shea Butter Twitter's wet dream. What kinda message are they sending with this show when three-fifths of the female cast are frolicking with white dudes, the 4th girl being a lesbian, a high percentage of the black male characters being gay, and a storyline about a black male professor sexually assaulting a white girl :stopitslime: I get the impression from Sam, Coco and Brooke that they feel black men are too infantile for them. How you gonna be channeling Angela Davis, talking about being the next Michelle Obama, and reciting lines from their Eyes Were Watching God one minute, then banging Connor the next scene. Imagine if on Atlanta...Paperboi, Earn and Darius were all fukking white girls :stopitslime:Reggie's a cool character but, not enough to keep my interest. Earlier in the season I thought they were about to keep going with the Sam angle which was corny the first time. The played out stereotype of not being interested in the chocolate sister that wants you because you caught up on the mixed lightskin chick (who was too busy sucking white peen). Troy is too vapid and lacks substance. Could never watch a show with him as the lead. I'mma finish since I invested my time already but, going forward I'mma just rock with Atlanta and Insecure. Even She's Gotta Have It portrayed black men better imo. The only thing I like about Dear White People is the fact that it makes me miss my HBCU days. Outside of that, there's a clear agenda on this show.

Philly. Fucc a Eagle. I mean dat.
The white woman as the black man’s ally bullshyt they are promoting is REALLY bothering me...

So they’ve flipped this shyt into white people= Good and ALWAYS tell the truth and Black people= Bill Cosby:stopitslime:

This shyt literally ends with a black man looking a white woman in the face and telling her he’s sorry.

fukk this show. Never watching again

Imma stay out of the Hotep discussion because it didn’t bother me:

I'm 5 episodes deep and it just seems too unfocused and too full of itself if that makes sense. Way too much of the new gay guy too. He's extremely annoying.

They really fukked up with this season. No directon and nothing to care about.

That chick Brooke or whatever her name is annoying as fukk.

Extremely disappointed with this season.
The season lacked a lot of focus. They gave all this attention to the African dude only to forget about him until the last ep.

The secret society stuff was mostly pointless.

I didn’t mind them jumping off the racial dynamics and looking inward, but that revealed a flawed show. I hope the writers can right the ship it for a fourth season because they have talented actors, but they need to rethink a lot of stuff.
