Yeah, I just finished the season and I can understand a lot of the issues. The lack of focus and not really giving the characters that many compelling story-lines compared to the previous seasons.

Joelle took over the Dear White People broadcast, but they didn't really do anything with that. Her and Reggie spent a lot of time not connecting as well.

The Reggie/Moses mentor storyline seemed okay, but we saw how that turned out

Gabe got a lot of screen time for a pretty boring character, didn't really care about his struggle to get funding for his movie

Lionel was busy writing erotic fiction and getting into gay shenanigans . He seemed to be funnier last season as well.

The Coco fellowship thing wasn't that dynamic either. They addressed some heavy topics, but not sure the season had a clear standout moment like the Gabe/Sam bottle episode, or Sam going back home with her friends to deal with her father's death.

I do like the way the camera moves and flows from different characters as they switch perspectives and the actors are all still solid.

What’s up with all the black girls on here fukking white men Not only is it unrealistic that a bunch of pro-black sisters are all sleeping with white boys, black women would have a serious problem if there was a tv show based on School Daze and A Different World and three of the black male characters had white girlfriends.

Some of the most militant sounding black folks have white partners.

While the last season of DWP was probably my least favorite, I'm glad to see it return and be able to wrap up on its own terms. It becomes another 4 season and done show, joining GLOW, Claws, and the recently ended Preacher.
