Season 1 was decent for the most part. Easy to get through. I haven't checked out Season 2 yet. Is it worth it?

So I can tell you as a white dude, they definitely did a great deep dive on what it means to be a white ally to black rights with Gabe..and just how easy it is to exploit that relationship for gain, even when folks who do it are unaware of it.

And God damn Logan Browning is so. Damn. Fine. :blessed:

I went to a state university, but this makes me kinda miss college.

Finally finished season 2 after starting it only yesterday and I like the fact that they explored racial issues from an interesting perspective and the way they really dug into white supremacy and white privailage with this. However I hated the swirling that went on and it pisses me off to see it especially on a show like this or the gay story line that had to put into it.

I mean we can't have a black story these days with out them putting something gay into it or a white savior coming into it?

Why could they have showed Sam ending up with a black male character?

With this said after watching the finale I wonder if they will do a season 3 of this? I mean what does the finale even mean lol. The Davis house burned down due to a microwave fire, Sam doesn't seem like she wants to continue her show to be just another talking head years down the line and also you had that creepy secret society like meeting they cracked the code on.

Sidenote: I like the Easter eggs they put into this season with the characters from the movie being in the show. I found that funny.

Show has already been renewed for a 3rd season. I imagine they will explore more of that secret society that Sam/Lionel discovered at the end, there will always be some racial issues they can touch on at the school, go into more of Joelle/Reggie's new relationship.

Damn,already lol.

Well I guess you're right and they will probably figure a way to make Sam continue doing the show as well. With the overarching message being something to the effect of though white privilege is something whites benefit off of at the end of the day we are all human beings in America and have to try our best to understand each other or some sentimental crap like that :russ: they have to find some way to justify her getting with that white dude.

Maybe it will be that we are all humans or some shyt like that.

Super late on this but just binged both seasons in the last two days. Way better show than I expected. Sam as a character I hate but I think the actress is doing her thing. Interested in where they take her character for season 3.

Going to a majority white university with a small black population and I am all too familiar with a lot of these conversations occurred. We heard criticisms of white students for us having a black culture center and for having our own little seating area in the dining halls. the messiness of it being such a small black population that you end up dating ex's friends. Watching the extreme shade when somebody brings a white date to the all black functions.

Hell even the finding reasons to protest or stage sit ins was dead on to my college experience.

Each character on the show reminded me of someone I know in real life.

I especially like that the show doesn't try to answer questions. More provide different viewpoints to different viewpoints and voices and leaves it up to the viewer to really decide how they feel.
