I am a huge spiderman fan, probably my fav superhero

He deserves a high quality adult film trilogy, already got venom in the bag with tom hardy to set up carnage or sinister 6 trilogy

imagine a grown up spiderman film trilogy like the dark knight series, a grown up spiderman working at the daily bugle in his 20s no more kid stuff

it will never happen with disney

They sold the rights, it's not theirs anymore. Sony could release a film every two years where Spider-Man is taking a nap for 2 hours and as long as they were fine with the finances :manny:.

Disney came up with some crazy ass offer that made Sony give them the :hubie:

It's a business. Marvel was struggling and companies like Sony threw them cash for some valuable rights. I can't get mad at them for not wanting to give that up or accept some crazy ass deal that would have them giving up 50% of the profit for every Spider-Man related film and ALL of the merchandising profits.

They tried their best to shoehorn that bullshyt ass Venom movie into the MCU, they are obviously trying to stand next to them and their success with the character, it only makes sense they want a bigger cut.

50% is too much but the real issue is once Arad got his vindication with the commercial succes of Venom they felt like they could take what life Marvel has breathed into the character, pull him and the casual fans wouldn't know the difference. If you're gonna be riding my wave, making (shytty) movies that you publicly tell people are "connected" to my franchise all while making it harder for me to tell great Spider-man stories with character stipulations, i want more money, more leeway and more over-sight as to how to actually integrate the characters into my world for the fans sake.

You're supposed to start off high with your negotiations. Sony went public with this bullshyt because this is what they wanted to do all along and they thought leaking the negotiations would help them justify it to the fans.

:francis:

15-20% split on the financing, you let Feige oversee/have input on the movies that are directly associated with Spider-Man and let them use who they need to use. In turn Sony can do their films and still have their TV lineup which they need Marvel for

Then why did they have to get Marvel to reboot the character after TASM 2??? Even then the first one was mid and they were clueless as to what to do next.

And again I'm responding to the notion that it's wrong for Marvel to have a "monopoly" on his own characters, that's fukking stupid especially when you look at what happened with F4 and X-Men. I give a fukk about the politics.

X-men had X-Men,X2, First Class, Days of Future's Past, and the 2 Deadpools

And the classic Logan.

Did Fox have some duds? yes. But so did MCU.

Those first 2 Thor movies. :usure:

Ironman 3 :usure:

Fox had some gems now.

Marvel is having a great run. Nothing you can take away from them. Fiege is a legend in the making, if not already.

But Spider-Man isn't dependent on the MCU. To current moviegoer of fans, maybe. That is why they are up in arms. MCU made him that way, and kinda made him lesser than what he should be.

With Sony, I'd take the first 2 Raimi Spider-Man movies over the MCU Spiderman movies. :manny:

Raimi's Spider-Man 2.:wow:

Because suits are fukkin idiots. :snoop:

I was surprised they ended Garfield’s run early. The movies were fine. They were far from being poorly made tho.

I loved Andrew (as Spidey, wack as Peter), he's honestly the best in-suit but that second movie was a mess and that's coming from someone who threw a fit when they didn't continue the franchise.

Low-key it is. That is why Disney is going this route in trying to win support through the press.

Sony just got to weather the PR nightmare Disney is trying to create in the short-term.
Disney is going this route because all they have to leverage is angry stans...

SONY has what matters and that's the rights to the biggest character in the MU...

I thought it was a step down from the first, but it wasn’t as bad as part 3.

Mr. Stark I Don't feel so good:mjlol: ass nikka's

.

Part of Sony's character sharing agreement were that any characters that Marvel borrowed from them had to be different iterations from the comics just in case they decided to pull them. That also meant the MCU Spider man needed to be unique as well. So instead of Mary Jane we got "MJ", and young Aunt May, Iron Man as surrogate father instead of Ben..that was Sony's doing.
