Just beat the last boss and that theory was right. It doesn't have to be that exact combo of Brutality/Tactics/Survival but any combination that equals 28 total skill points makes all the difference in the world. I went with 5/11/14....I prefer ranged attacks so if you like melee or more defense obviously mix and match. Also I was going with what I found. :manny:

Don't get me wrong, the boss wasn't a walk in the park but it was manageable and he wasn't taking off half my HP with one hit.

That weapon he drops. :wow:

They don't build nikkaz like they used to
I know. Like most people I beat the game without using a guide, walk through or even knowing about that weapon combos existed. And don't tell me you did cause unless you saw someone else do it you didn't find that out yourself and the person who taught you learned from the guide.

Bruh, you have a little understanding and gaming back in the day. Walkthroughs didn't really exist, that's more of an internet age thing. I mean, they did have strategy guides that would have secrets in them but a "walkthrough" is what all that evolved into. nikkaz back in the day was not relying on magazines to complete games, or to master them :stop:

Anyone from my era looks at that shyt like y'all crazy, like, what's the point of playing if you want everything done for you, most retarded shyt I ever heard of in my life.

Now to your comment on weapon combos in super Metroid? I can assure you I did all that was to be done in the original and super Metroid. I learned Samus was a girl back in 1980'something ya dig. I enjoyed super Metroid but know it couldn't fukk with the original :yeshrug: still a great game tho...

Did you ever read Nintendo power? Nintendo themselves and a couple of other studios used to release dope ass magazines for their games. It was more than just guides. They had collectible cards with characters on them, hologram cards, posters. These game guides had some behind the scenes details, character renderings and art and some interviews....pre-internet this was the go to for gaming

Umm...Ice Grenade with the little turret joint that pierces through enemies for more damage as they're frozen. Had the Blood Sword and the double shot arrow that pierced through enemies, also.
I didn't play for too long but I did manage to kill the boss on the Black Bridge.
I'm going back in on Thursday.

Is this like 'Enter the Gungeon' in so far as if you die you lose everything and start right at the beginning? Or is it less tedious (check/save points/keep power ups/weapons on death etc)

I havent played that. You do start over when you die. You dont level up or keep weapons to start a run.

Theres like 4 special skills that you keep when you unlock them. Also extra potions and other perks that you get to keep.

Theres blueprints for skills and weapons. When you find them you spend cells to unlock them. You dont start a run with them, they are added to the stuff that your able to find and buy in the world on all your runs.

Even when you die and have to start over it still always feels like your progressing.

All the different skills and weapons, and how awesome the combat is keeps it from feeling too repetitive. For me at least :yeshrug:

So I had a really good run, beat the time guy (really easy) but died at the second last area. You can finish the game (beat the final boss) without even opening half of the game's areas?
