I never had a chance to read the comic but why the fukk is Jon doing a protest, when his father is not only a god but that same father knows several other hyper intelligent beings that can create universes in a bowl of cereal.

Superman is not a god.

He's a glorified crane with infrared lasers added on.

To your main ask, because comics forget who they need to so the storylines can work. Can't call 5d imps to fix everything cause that's boring

Not saying its awful as I haven't read it, but there is a main-line Superman that will be rocked with until the end of time. Offshooting a bisexual son is all well and good but was it even enjoyable? You already got the "THERE IS AN AGENDA!" or religious folks who won't touch it, and then there are so many titles that of course there is competition. If LGBTQ folk didn't buy in enough, it is what it is. There seems to be a demand for LGBTQ media that blends with other media rather than being siloed into a potential justice warrior comic which this one almost seems like it is. None of this bothers me but we know how the world is. Gotta tell your audience to buy in.


Edit: Did a google. The comic series is being renamed. I should know better than to trust The Coli, especially if the source is sketchy.

Comics do relaunches all the time, to try and drum up hype for flagging sales or creative changeovers (writers/artists/inkers).

I will say this though. The mainstream just doesn't care about gayness like that.

It's moved from burn all battymon to just don't show us the battymon.

DC is never gonna put gay super-son on the big screen regardless, since that's what all these books are now, a mining ground for the silver screen.

Or at least, he'll never be THE SUPERMAN on the theater screen.

You don't get much higher profile than Superman.

Ultra Meatman(WTF?!) will get a 5 issue miniseries and then fade into bolivia, only rarely identified in huge spread shots as a Where's Waldo type of geek reference.

You make a large part of the Superman family gay, chances are he or she isn't gonna be kicked into the dead zone anytime soon.

So yeah, they know it's pandering but they also know it could be worse.
