I feel like a lot of the comic book marketing and writers are aiming at the wrong crowd tbh. They seem to be obsessed with using twitter as a metric for popularity but fail to acknowledge that getting a “like” on a post or initiative doesn’t transmit to a sale. Most people would still watch a movie than read a comic tbh. Im not sure if that type model is throughout the DC/Marvel comic company however.

If anything they should be trying to understand why manga is still so popular among thier target audience and work from there instead of virtue signaling.

Yep, and really it comes down to the fact that manga aren't never ending cash grabs, they have a start and finish, and are extremely high quality.

There's a reason that invincible had more fanfare and success than any recent dc project
