Top guys, out
The thing about AEW is the freedom it offers in my opinion. If I’m faced with a decent NXT contract vs similar money in AEW, the ability to make money on outside wrestling gigs and the opportunity to raise profile.. I’m probably taking the AEW deal, especially if I aren’t confident that the NXT gig would lead to something bigger down the line and there was a chance I’d be stuck in purgatory. It’s a case of betting on yourself. NXT deal might be a bigger offer, but the AEW deal is likely a better payoff on the back end. At that point it’s less about a legacy of matches.
