Think of it like a pie chart. EVERYTHING in totality worked together to oppress us. Whether it was drugs, guns, employment & education discrimination, redlining, media propaganda, etc. EVERYTHING worked together. Thats why its called SYSTEMIC oppression.

So that's why it's called systematic :ohhh:

dj vlad wanted Banner to shyt on joel ortiz so bad, lol, dude is satan. good interview but i'm much more interested now in watching that full John Amos interview, seems very informative. how is Banner droppin gems about the inherent wickedness of the white man while continuously calling Vlad "brother"? smh. jamar be doing that same shyt, "oh, the other whites are bad, but you give us a platform so thank ya boss, you one of da good ones", foh, shyt is disgusting. Dr. Cornel West is one of my favorite people on earth but I cringe when he says that ish to white people.

We need to stop being so welcoming and comforting to them, can we just try that? we done tried everything else and we aint got shyt, let's focus on being welcoming and comforting to our own and building our own nation within a nation. we the only racial group (i use "racial" loosely considering its a social construct) who aint about building and employing and empowering our own, we always wanna work for and tap dance for and bow down to whitey, shyt is ingrained i guess. there is literally not one black voice that i can imagine being on Vlad, or whoever, and checking these people, definitely no rapper. maybe Star, lol, but he trolls so much you can't tell if he's being serious.

Brother is a term many people use so i don't see the outrage, you''re acting like he's calling vlad an honorary black man.

Hip hop ain't even hip hop no more.

shyt is just product placement for large corporations.

Apple
Beats
Multiple liquor companies
Tobacco industries
Club/strip club owners

Edit: I forgot cars and designer clothes too :snoop:

This and this. And again this.

Hip-Hop basically became a musical promotion of consumerism.

I can't co-sign putting integration and slavery on equal footing. Integration as a means to combat segregation is positive. Segregation reinforced White Supremacy and oppression. Separate water fountains, making Blacks walk in the back of public establishments, making Blacks sit in the back of a bus, making Blacks use outdated textbooks etc. was mental enslavement. You had Black children and young teens feeling inferior because of segregation. "What's so special about that white water fountain", "is their water better than ours", "why am I made to walk in the back of a building" are questions which led to "they must be better or doing something better". By integrating, you get to see the inner workings and truth is revealed that they aren't and weren't superior. Integration exposed the lies of White Supremacy.
:francis: We were waking up on our own with Harlem, Black Wall Street, Overtown and Brownsville in Miami and building equivalent and better shyt. Each passing second, becoming less dependent, armed and not putting up with their bullshyt. They peeped it and said if they give a chosen few a bone much bigger than they have now then the rest will fight amongst each other for that bone.

Integration never suggestion that we couldn't stand on our own. Integration was about co-existing. Integration isn't something "they" did or even wanted, it was something that MLK and other leaders fought and died for. It wasn't about giving someone a bone.

Us fighting amongst each other has nothing to do with integration and everything to do with certain seeds that were planted during slavery.

It's not about working for, tap dancing, and bowing down to whitey. Sure there are those of us who figure that doing that will get them further. That within itself is a problem. What should be understood is that we can work with them without submitting to them. I'm not talking about giving up integrity and self-worth to work with them, but keeping our history, pride, and identity in tact. If they don't want to work with us, then call them on it and make it known that we can move forward without them.

We don't need a nation within a nation. That would be slap in the face to our ancestors who built this one. What we need is to change the power structure of this nation because it's the only part of building this nation that didn't get our input. We need more of us in every level of government. There needs to be more of us writing laws that combat racism at every level. We need more Black Panthers that are really out here policing the police.

We don't put much value on the things we create until unfortunately the White world validates it. And to me that starts with the way we view ourselves within the context of the particular societies we live in.

And more importantly we can't seem to sustain a system which allows to consistently control the things we create, and actually make it beneficial for us on every level.

Deep down Black folks we want to accepted, we want to be part of the so-called mainstream, and reap all the rewards from it. But at some point as a collective we have to start understanding, that in this system. It's not possible for us to assimilate, without essentially fukking over ourselves in the long run.

Because assimilation for us is essentially handing over the keys to someone else.

I said it in one of the threads on this site (i think it was the LR)

We, this world, basically has to do everything to appease the white man. More specifically, the heterosexual, christian white man. Everything you do, say, is judged against what "he" feels is right. If it matches up, cool you're right. If it isn't the same, then YOU are wrong and have to change. That's what POWER truly is. When you write the history books in your favor, this is one of the benefits. Everything has to be judged as to how YOU would view/hear it...

That's the sad thing in today's time. What I bolded that you wrote was so powerful to me. We have to understand that what WE have is important and valuable. Stop waiting for THEM to validate it, and love and respect our own!!!
