Take '71 off that list. It will be a 2015 US release. It's only played a handful of festivals to date.

I'll post my full list tonight :blessed:

Only things I didn't see yet and want to:
The Rover
Dear White People
Still Alice

Ill just do a top 5 since I still haven't seen many, including a few (Selma, GBH, Boyhood & Birdman) that are supposed to be some of the best movies of the year but still, my voice shall be heard on the coli

1. Whiplash
2. 22 Jump Street
3. John Wick
4. The Imitation Game
5. Fury

as for the worst...theory of everything...eddie redmayne's performance was pretty amazing but the subject matter of the movie just didn't do it for me, just a depressing ass movie. This dude is still living and somehow enjoying life the movie should have found a way to get that across better. Instead they have his creeper "caretaker" gaming his wife and a barely looked at second marriage of Stephen to some chick. Just a dreary, never ending nightmare of a movie.

Aight, here's my gigantic list.

Note: I didn't include ANY documentaries in this list. Don't like comparing docs to narrative films. Too distinctly different types of entertainment.

TOP 10 OF 2014
1. Dawn of the Planet Of The Apes
2. Birdman
3. Starred Up
4. Ida
5. The Lego Movie
6. Selma
7. Inherent Vice
8. Edge Of Tomorrow
9. The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby Him/Her
10. The Raid 2

HONORABLE MENTIONS (Not necessarily my 11-15)

The Drop
Obvious Child
Only Loves Left Alive
Locke
Force Majeure

11. Boyhood
The Drop
Guardians Of The Galaxy
Nightcrawler
Obvious Child
Only Lovers Left Alive
22 Jump Street
Blue Ruin
Grand Budapest Hotel
20. The Double
Captain America: The Winder Soldier
Locke

Draft Day
The Gambler
The November Man
TMNT
Jersey Boys
Need For Speed
Non-Stop
90. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit
Dumb and Dumber To
Brick Mansions

And rounding out that list, the WORST five movies I watched this year.

Magic In The Moonlight - Waffling script, creepy old man/young girl relationship. Just the worst of Woody Allen.
Lucy - see my thread.
Sabotage - What in the fukk? This is the guy who made Fury?
3 Days To Kill - There are no words.
Transformers 4 - Laminated statutory rape card.

And of those 98 movies, I saw 82 of them in the theater :wow:

Great pick with the Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby

It's a weird one to rank, especially since I basically included two films as one (The "Him" and "Her" versions). I haven't seen "Them" yet, will probably wait until I pick up the blu to dive into that one.

Honorable Mention: :obama:

I Origins
Noah
Fury
The Drop

I tried to avoid movies that I knew were gonna be bad so I didn't see a ton of bad ones...

Monuments Men :flabbynsick:
Sabatoge :shaq2:

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit :trash:

Overrated film of the year: :pacspit:

Tie between Captain America and Guardians of the Galaxy

Underrated film of the year: :lupe:
Noah

What I still need to see that could be good:
Selma
Starred Up
Two Days, One Night
Mr. Turner
Frank
Top 5
The Immigrant
Night Moves
The Double
The Theory of Everything
Wild
Dear White People
Kill the Messenger
Maps to the Stars
Get on Up

That seems like a lot but I'm currently at 50 2014 movies so far...

Great list man. Glad Calvary and Lego Movie are getting the love they deserve. And yes, Monuments Men was an abomination
