James Young was always advertised more of a scorer than pure shooter. He wasn’t even that good in college overall, he just had a great tournament and rode that wave into damn near being a lottery pick
RJ was always a shooter that couldn’t shoot, even in college, he just played at a mid-major where his dad was coach and he had the ultimate green light. Carsen’s issue is he’s a 5’11 volume scoring shooting guard that can’t guard anyone
I’m not saying Nesmith couldn’t be out of the league fast like them either. I just feel like I see a path where he could become valuable that I didn’t for the others.
I never watched those guys in college. I just remember how they were all talked about as being shooters and Young had the purest stroke of them all So that was probably writers hyping Young up like that cuz the C's needed shooting. I didn't know his game. I just saw his easy release and thought he could shoot.
Nesmith has the motor that those 3 don't have, along with the size and athleticism. Young had the size. Hunter didn't have the athleticism. Edwards had the athleticism but not the size. He lost 2 inches off his height cuz his knees built like a scissor jack.
