He was going back to Houston until Udoka came into the fold as those rumors stopped right after it happened. He came running back to Houston on some “the money is still good right” and now feels slighted eventhough he was shady in the matter himself.
We’ll never know, but I disagree. I don’t think he forced trade to Sixers with the plan of eventually going back to Houston so quickly. The sudden Houston push seemed money motivated. Harden wouldn’t have left Brooklyn and turned down that massive extension coming off of injury in the first place if it wasn’t communicated to him that he was certain to get his money on the Sixers. Something happened that made him rightfully doubt that the Sixers were going to give him the money that lured him away from Brooklyn. Everything points to Morey lied, which other prominent players have accused him of doing in the past.
