Preaching entrepreneurship was never the problem. It was when he started to denigrate people who worked or had careers.

And even that had a point. He was pointing out that they had a job where they were putting in time and equity but couldn’t pass anything off to their seed. So saying “if you’re going to put all that time and effort into something, put it into something that can be passed down” is a great message for black people who will often be the first people mistreated on jobs.

Nobody who is working a job should’ve took anything he said personal because those are just the facts. And if it did it just exposes people sensitivities and lack of self esteem. Because the only things that should do is go in one ear and out the other (him saying that has no effect on anyone’s life) OR motivate you to be your own boss. But all that “set us back” talk when he’s from a hip hop world where each song is saying much worse is nonsense.

Okay most people in order to start a business need capital. Either through loans or "working" :mjlol:. When they asked Dame how he got his start up money or capital he was silent because he knew his seed money came from drug dealing. Jobs/working are a means to an end. Either to support yourself or family or to build capital to invest in yourself.

I'd bet money I'm in a better financial position right now than Dame. Straight up.

It's not about being hurt, it's about delusions that are breaking young people's brains. If you go house-to-house in a super successful neighborhood you're going to find doctors, engineers, attorneys, investment bankers, etc. Most of whom are employees. Being an employee is not a bad thing. Owning a business is great! But most business owners aren't doing better than the average doctor. It's hard, joyless work and the fail rate is significantly high. Especially coming out a pandemic where many of them straight up lost everything.

We need more black business owners. We also need more black engineers, accountants, doctors, lawyers, etc. Most aren't going to be business owners and that's cool. Denigrating someone for working for someone else, while being BROKE, is laughable to me. This dude been hustling the same half assed bullshyt ideas for years with nothing to show for it man. If anyone is hurt it's his pockets and credit score.
Highly doubtful

That's like saying Lebron is where he is cause of Rich Paul. Jay's talent would have made him rich, multi-platinum and successful regardless. Dame rode Jay's coat tails and the only reason he ever had influence in the music biz and was tolerated was cause of his connection to Jay. He has been sued by almost every business partner he has ever had and every industry he has been involved in. He is and has always been a terrible businessman and has never done any successful business outside of Jay and the roc. Jay has proven himself to be a formidable and successful business owner on his own.

Dame is like the final form of LLC twitter. All flash and no substance. He is a boss and ceo of companies that are worth nothing. His son sells cookies. He is a broke loser. Only losers look up to him.

False take. There are rappers who were better than Jay who are stocking shelves now. He was in the right place, at the right time, with the right team, one of which was Dame. If someone like, say...Ras Kass had a couple nikkas like Dame on his team to scream on execs and not take bullshyt, his career could have had a whole different trajectory. Even in your LeBron example, without Rich he could have signed a bad deal, or stayed in Cleveland too long and had a way worse career than he has.

Thread is haterish and gossipy. His girl's lack of melanin may be worth examination after all of his "culture" talk, but being all in his pockets and celebrating his alleged downfall is very unmanly.

Do you think smart successful people need be told this or dumb stupid mofos?

Anybody who is serious about starting a business knows from common sense they need to RESEARCH whatever they are about to get into. Stupid muthafukkas jump right into shyt without knowing anything.

The problem is you keep thinking on behalf of stupid nikkas. What Dame said is pure motivational talk. If people took it as some sort of personal business advice then that's on them.

Yo i had this exact same conversation with girls sisters boyfriend. Dude was so pissed he wanted to square up. He has a business "reselling sneakers and dog breeding " but is broke and is about to have twins on the way. I told him he needed to get a job cuz he ain't making profits or try to run his business and work at the same time. He went on a rant about him being his own boss and tried coming for my girl and I because we both work in Tech. Meanwhile She FINANCED his whole baby shower because she works and makes 6 figures in project management.

My boy met some chick said she said she an entrepreneur and needs someone on her level because she has her own business. This dude 6 figure 6 Cert finance breh forreal. Turns out she's a lash tech and she's the only employee. :mjlol:

I truly blame Dame Dash for this. His breakfast club interview has set the black community back years. I:snoop:
It’s sad. Very troubling how we see these views poison so many black minds on key issues. We’re at a point where having a job (via an employer), going to college, and getting married have become controversial topics among some (not all) black people. I don’t understand it or how this happened.

My old barber used to shyt on me for being in college, and at one point tried to get me to join a pyramid scheme. I was coming out the shop as he was going out once and he asked me to follow him to his car right quick. Popped the trunk and had all this Amway type shyt in there, asking if I wanted some to sell. You're telling me going to college and learning business is dumb, but you're selling Amway shyt. Come on. And that's how it always goes, and why I brought up the barber shop in my first post in this thread. That's where the ideological debate is, for black men. You got Dame dudes and you got other dudes who have jobs. I don't care if you're working at Amazon, if you got a plan and are building towards something (school, trades, whatever) why would I shyt on you? Dame sounded like he looked down on people like that, whether you bagging groceries or are an attorney lol.

The Dame saga was a line in the sand moment for being smart or stupid. If you’ve been to the barbershop enough you can tell the successful people from the bullshyt excuse makers. The successful people might own their own business…or they might be a doctor, lawyer, post office worker, factory worker, engineer etc working at a company. The bullshyt excuse maker is the guy who is least successful yet spends all his time trying to denigrate people who have a college education or “work for another man.”

Some black kids grow up to be on one side, some on the other. When I heard Dame talk it was clear he was broke and all his business ideas were bad. Others thought he was a genius. Years later it’s clear who was right and who wasn’t.

Dame might've invented LLC Twitter to be honest:russ:

Do we have any proof that Dame has been blackballed? They can only "blackball" you if you're floundering -- if he was actually successful at something people cared about he wouldn't be getting blackballed.

Always found it weird that people talked about Dame burning bridges like that was something others did to him and not a result of his intolerable personality and constantly belittling people when he had leverage.

Dude has not been popping since the 24/7 karate school currensy blackroc shyt. Now he's just a goof unfortunately. He does seem to have a wife that loves him which is worth way more than coli daps and internet kudos.

Didnt he try to make his own label with a couple former roc a fella artists and flopped?
