I respect Dame in the sense that he is willing to take the risks that big rewards take. He fails sometimes but that's why they are called risks.
When is he going to get to the rewards post-Jay?

Also, what good is being an "owner" if everything you own fails? I don't think Dame would receive the same level of criticism if he just minded his business and enjoyed his family but he's obsessed with projecting this image. Also, Dame's not broke compared to regular people on the street but he definitely is compared to the people he considers his peers (Puff, Jay, JD, shyt Master P probably has more money too), which is absolutely fine. You have a beautiful home a beautiful family, enjoy that. Instead he's out here like an Instagram thot trying to sell an image.

The Dame saga was a line in the sand moment for being smart or stupid. If you’ve been to the barbershop enough you can tell the successful people from the bullshyt excuse makers. The successful people might own their own business…or they might be a doctor, lawyer, post office worker, factory worker, engineer etc working at a company. The bullshyt excuse maker is the guy who is least successful yet spends all his time trying to denigrate people who have a college education or “work for another man.”

Some black kids grow up to be on one side, some on the other. When I heard Dame talk it was clear he was broke and all his business ideas were bad. Others thought he was a genius. Years later it’s clear who was right and who wasn’t.
:yeshrug:

This is an excellent post full of truths.

I'd bet money I'm in a better financial position right now than Dame. Straight up.

It's not about being hurt, it's about delusions that are breaking young people's brains. If you go house-to-house in a super successful neighborhood you're going to find doctors, engineers, attorneys, investment bankers, etc. Most of whom are employees. Being an employee is not a bad thing. Owning a business is great! But most business owners aren't doing better than the average doctor. It's hard, joyless work and the fail rate is significantly high. Especially coming out a pandemic where many of them straight up lost everything.

We need more black business owners. We also need more black engineers, accountants, doctors, lawyers, etc. Most aren't going to be business owners and that's cool. Denigrating someone for working for someone else, while being BROKE, is laughable to me. This dude been hustling the same half assed bullshyt ideas for years with nothing to show for it man. If anyone is hurt it's his pockets and credit score.

Yo i had this exact same conversation with girls sisters boyfriend. Dude was so pissed he wanted to square up. He has a business "reselling sneakers and dog breeding " but is broke and is about to have twins on the way. I told him he needed to get a job cuz he ain't making profits or try to run his business and work at the same time. He went on a rant about him being his own boss and tried coming for my girl and I because we both work in Tech. Meanwhile She FINANCED his whole baby shower because she works and makes 6 figures in project management.

My boy met some chick said she said she an entrepreneur and needs someone on her level because she has her own business. This dude 6 figure 6 Cert finance breh forreal. Turns out she's a lash tech and she's the only employee. :mjlol:

I truly blame Dame Dash for this. His breakfast club interview has set the black community back years. I:snoop:

You can’t possibly think dame dash has a net worth of 100k :dead:

If you add in his debts and losses he's bleeding in a lot of areas that he doesn't speak on. Child support alone kicking his ass..check the court records

It has not. The same fukking idiots listening to Dame would still be fukking idiots if they never heard him.

Dame dropped great advice (Be a boss, work for yourself) . He didn't give you a blueprint and say do these steps, it's on you to interpret how to do it.

If you a lazy nikka then you will handle business like a lazy nikka and do dusty shyt like quit your job with no real game plan. Nobody making six figures is going to up and leave there job cuz of Dame dash's advice

He started (or made it popular) the whole "its better to be a boss than an employee" mindset. Now we have a generation of men who look down on stable, good paying class jobs and women who think a 9-5 working man is lame.:francis: Can't complain when other people start taking those jobs and building stronger communities while cats are hustling some bullshyt get rich scheme all in the name of being their own boss.

Now y’all nikkas reaching :comeon:

What Dame said at the time was absolutely needed. Especially when most of y’all out the side of your neck will complain about white supremacy. His message of “be your own boss” in a “white supremacist” society should be music to people’s ears. Just because people didn’t understand the work that it takes to be your own boss, doesn’t mean the message was bad.

A “generation of men” didn’t change their ideals off a Dame Dash breakfast club interview
:mjlol:

The “you should work for yourself” is a good message to give to black men who will get jobs and be poked and prodded with. If a person doesn’t know that it takes WORK to be your own boss then that’s on them and no one else.

Preaching entrepreneurship was never the problem. It was when he started to denigrate people who worked or had careers.
