Success isn’t guaranteed in anything these teams do, it’s part of the game. Somebody has to win and somebody has to lose. If they go try to get a new QB via the draft, whose to say that he gives the same level of production that Dak has given? The odds are against it

it wasn’t just that Wentz and Goff were overpaid, they were legit bad last season. If the Eagles were confident they could get even the 2019 version of wentz he’d still be on the team. And hell the Rams still got to the playoffs and won a game despite Goff not being good. They sought an upgrade, got it and are now one of the favorites to come out of the NFC

The point is they weren't worth the money that they were being paid and neither is Dak. My complaint isn't sorely pertaining to Dak, but the concept in general of paying average to above average QBs $35-$40+ million dollars.

It's only 4 QBs I believe in the league are worth that kind of bread:

Brady
Rodgers
Wilson (even he's debatable)
Mahomes

It happens all the time though especially in baseball which has no salary cap. They roll the dice and hope that they won't have too much of a drop.

Dak was putting up empty garbage time numbers. Don't let the numbers fool you.

I'm not only complaining about Dak, but other average to above average QBs making $35-$40+ million a year who aren't good enough to elevate the team around them. Just because some teams made that same mistake doesn't that others have to repeat it.
So why didnt dak"s backups do the same? In fact there are more than a handful of qb's that play behind each season that don't even come close to putting up the numbers dak has in "garbage time". Its a common talking point but no one has provided any example of it. Where are all these average qb's putting up big numbers in garbage time or is dak the only one?

Kirk Cousins is and used to be the king of garbage time numbers in Washington and still has the tendency to do so in Minnesota.

Look at Kurt Cousins numbers and then look at the W-L. Especially when it comes to primetime games.

Players in general hate the franchise tag as it’s not long term guaranteed money. You play under the franchise tag one year and tear your ACL, what do you think will happen? Long term money matters in the NFL. Kirk Cousins had no other choice but to play under the franchise tag. He didn’t do it by choice.

In my example... I explicitly state every time “QB Franchise Tag”. You conveniently glossed over that to fit your bullshyt narrative... and to further my point..... Dak had his whole foot re arranged to the wrong direction and still got his chips... with extra dip.... :whew: This bullshyt you talking is just that.... Bullshyt..... QB play isn’t ACL dependent like other positions.....JJ Watt May be effectively washed and still got 23 million guaranteed..... Wentz got his big ass deal off of back to back season ending injuries... etc, etc, etc

Many teams would take cousins over the bs they're trotting out, hell cousins would make the wft a legit threat but now they're blowing money and draft picks yearly trying to find a QB and the QB position has been a question mark since kirk left. Look at the bears. Look at the pats without Brady. Look at the Broncos. Look at the Jags. Point is, QB's get paid because they are the hardest position to find in sports.

You again :mjlol:

I said it before and I will say it again. QBs and players in general do not like the franchise tag regardless of how much they get from it. There's a risk of injury playing on a one year deal. It worked out for Dak and he still got his bread, but that doesn't mean that the contract will age well. Same as the contract with Wentz.

Long term money and security is what matters in the NFL. Ask Dak if he would have rather got his extension or played again under the franchise tag coming off injury and see what he will say.

The Jags had the chance to move on from a bad Blake Bortles and doubled down on him. That's their incompetence.

QBs are the hardest position to find in the NFL, but it doesn't mean that some of them are worth the contracts that they get. Just because the market says you pay those players a certain amount doesn't mean that you have to do so.

Like I said earlier in this thread and others, keep that same energy for Dak and Dallas if that deal doesn't work out for them. Don't make threads and comments heckling and talking about how Dallas shouldn't have given him the money and how it's become a burden on the team. If you think he should have gotten the bread, then don't say a word if it doesn't work out. That's how I view.

The Bears also picked Tribusky over Watson, so that's their own incompetence as well. They had the opportunity to get him and chose not to.

They also had a chance to move on from him, but chose to bring in Nick Foles as competition.

I'm waiting on the fukkery when it's time to pay Baker. :laff:

And Baltimore better get their deal with Lamar done ASAP or it's gonna get worse.

"You are what the market says you are..."
