Look at the "unsuccessful" rappers under Dre/Interscope - Stat Quo, Rakim, Bishop, Hittman etc - all non gangsta rappers.
This Hittman?

and this Bishop Lamont?

:dahell:

Dudes are more gangsta than Dre himself, perhaps not 50 and Game but who are?

I think it's more about them not having any trait, sound standing out or grass root hits as just about every rapper who has blown up. I also believe that it was wrong period for such rappers, in the midst of the Southern domination and before "hiphop internets" really really took off, 50 falling off, Eminem disappearing, Dre focused on other things and on. As far as Stat and Bishop goes.

What was he doing, thought he was just put on the shelf like a lot of aftermath artists

also when you were at interscope were they blackballing 50 and G-Unit.

I'm not going to go into the main thing, as it would be unfair for a dude on the internet to hurl that at him in this climate. If it comes out it'll come out.

In terms of other shyt...wasting budgets, treating interns like shyt, disrespecting execs, leaking info, talking shyt about Dre...just dumb shyt.

50 wasn't blackballed. Only noteworthy person I remember being "blackballed" was Gibbs. Most people who get blackballed are artists you never hear of. Artists who do reference tracks for rappers and singers. Especially the reference track female singers. They get kicked out the game quick.

he sent subliminal at fif?

They talked about street shyt though, maybe not "ima kill you or sell 500 keys of dope" but they all rapped about street shyt or explicit shyt at the least.

He did. Dont remember if he just did it online/interviews or on records. Wasnt nothing too serious tho. If i remember correctly i think
it was around the end of his stint on Aftermath. Like when he randomly went at Game one time outta nowhere and really had no explanation
as to why..and then the next second hes cheerfully watching Game perform at some event/release party..

You're right. But they still werent "gangsta rappers" per se. They never carried that street persona.

He one of them rappers who for some reason, can’t make that crossover hit that resonate with fans. He one of them rappers that’s talented BUT can’t make that one HIT that can be played in ANY club in the US and make everybody go crazy.

He left the slave plantation called Aftermath and got blackballed. Same thing happened to Stat Quo.

Basically nikkas got tired working for free without a release date in sight for the next decade.

Rapper on Aftermath: Yo Dre when we releasing the album?

Dre: Em is scheduled in about 4 years. We'll see what happens after that

Rapper: :skip:

How did Stat Quo get blackballed? He been dropping albums and working with Dre after he left Aftermath/Shady and is the manager of Lil Xan nowadays and also is still working with The Game.

Rap is simple...

If you can’t make a single that resonates you’ll never go where you want to

There are plenty who have failed that can attest

I had one of his mixtapes back in the day in middle school , I’ll tell you why he didn’t blow

He seemed generic as fukk , okay he raps , okay he’s street , but a lot of people are

I just don’t think he had the star look , especially being on a label like aftermath
