Such a poor example. For one, the average consumer can't test a game before release. Second, they did hold CPR to a standard that's why there was an outcry about the game being in the state it was in at release.
Delay buying a new game a couple days and there you have it. You will find out the state it's in at release. If people could delay even a day they'd find out from others.

This game sold 13 million copies last year. Doesn't sound like gamers overall held them to a standard.

14.5 million sold versus 27 million projected , the brehs are right its a certified FLOP that hurt CDPR stock price

Cyberpunk 2077 Sales Figures Help Explain CDPR's Falling Stock - Den of Geek
'some firms' expected 27+ mil aside :mjlol:

and that's not even the problem with the bottom line reaching into 2021. its the price to go back and fix the console shyt that would've been already been funded if they hadn't cut corners their going for a multi gen release in the first place. same article been going around for a minute now. pay now v pay later and they chose to pay later after hitting 15 mil :mjlol:

real money was lost in the long term for a short term gain. Shareholder value strikes again

its a flop til they fully do something next gen with it or just abandon it

the real money lost was in the multiple months long delays leading up to the release. if anyone was gonna assume and predict losses, it would've been there if they weren't trying to flex a half assed financial analysis. CDPR pushes it back any further and it becomes a running gag and the development costs to go back and fulfill the unrealistic last gen console demand is still not fixed.

that projection math was absurd because they predicted roughly double - then turn around and blame PSN for not meeting that mark. makes zero sense and its deliberate reporting tomfoolery because they don't even factor in what percentage of sales even come from that platform or the fact that CDPR's primary home has and will always be on PC.

same mess the internet rallied around with the refund story. more people retweeted about a refund than actually made use of the program :mjlol:

The next gen update ain't coming out this year, no way. Probably Spring 2022 at the earliest.

I love the Cyberpunk genre so I can't give up on this like most people have.

Damn breh you going to be waiting for a long time :mjcry:

At least they gave you a new shirt and Johnny skin to hold you over :mjcry:
