If we're being honest, gaming culture has been absolutely fukking embarrassing this year. I'm starting to get why so many people in the business come off as bitter and hostile. There's absolutely no winning with these people.
That tweet you linked is a great example. They're complaining about the game portraying late stage capitalism, when the cyberpunk genre as a whole is effectively about the ills of unchecked late stage capitalism. But then again, most of the people on this wave are folks that A: just added the term late stage capitalism to their vocabulary recently, B: just read about communism/socialism, and haven't considered how difficult it is to pull them off the right or idealized way (seeing as no country has done so to date), and C: do A and B while actively engaging in the late stage capitalism they're complaining about.

Because to some of these people they are. CDPR hasn't done anything "evil" or malicious as these people claim. But when you're a loser who can whine on the internet all day because there are no real life consequences, and you don't have to REALLY struggle to survive because your needs are taken care of by the same society you bytch about, you don't see how good you have it.
Most of these people don't understand how difficult the world really is. So they get to live in their bubbles (or on Reset Era) and pretend to be unicorns because other people are paying the price so they can live comfortably.

Exactly how I see it. Even complaining about crunch is first world problems. Fighting for the rights of well paid people working in an industry of their choice.
Most people gonna play it, beat it, then replay it again with a different playstyle when the PS5 version drops.
The slightly early release date swayed me to get it on PC tho
