SVB is a sacrificial lamb. just like Lehman was, just like WaMu was

the biden administration will push for regulation. the republicans who come after will undo that.

the cycle will continue until it becomes explicitly illegal to lobby politicians and punishment for the rich with jail time is as much as with the poor

but we all know laws and rules are meant for the poor. rich people will be killed before they see a prison cell.

This and term limits (judiciary included) are the only reasonable remedies for this country.

I hardly watch the news so take this as an outside looking in.

I believe we are moving away from a consumer economy, no more getting the latest iphone every year. People will start owning things and keeping them for much longer. Like life before the 80s consumer boom. Just read an article today about how its becoming normal not to give gifts at certain events because of inflation and gift giving at some events is considered rude or distastefulness.

People are already waking up to how bad debt is and are starting to pay with cash.

So i think this is good for the black community, we might have a generation that values family and land ownership over all.
Kind of top late for all that. We just had the mass migration of millions of Mexicans and Latinos to america (4 million since 2020). That'll make land ownership more difficult tbh

It's mind boggling how bad some of these bank CEOs are at their jobs :why:
Have they not heard of risk management, it seems like they make decisions based off the most optimistic conditions lasting long term

I really hope they don't get bailed out. If youthey create a no consequence environment, this is the kind of thing that happens over and over again. If you're running your business poorly, my tax dollars aren't your back up plan.
They have to be bailed out.

It cant be allowed to collapse

Duh
They get their bonuses off the stock price

You think they wont do everything increase their pay? They approved bonuses for key staff as they walked out the door at SVB
