"Italy's prime minister has said at least 16 million people are now under lock-down in Lombardy region and also in 14 provinces until early April.

The dramatic escalation in the country's efforts to contain the new coronavirus will close gyms, pools, museums and ski resorts.

Wedding and funerals are also suspended under the mandatory quarantine.

Italy is Europe's worst-hit country and reported a steep rise in virus infections on Saturday.

The new measures, which also apply to financial centre Milan and tourist hotspot Venice will last until april 3rd"

the other thing is I can see this spreading even if people have it. Unlike the coli 6 figure brehs, most of us can't miss 2-3 weeks of unpaid work.

That's why no one should respect a "China response" in the states. The sad reality is that people are going to be working through their illness, like they do with every other ailment. I'm hoping that since there is so much hype and media attention surrounding this virus that a spotlight would be shown on how inadequate sick/medical leave is for the average worker. It's amazing with all the talk of quarantines in the media this has not come up once. Well, it's not really that surprising.

Some of the deaths will likely be from older individuals who are still employed who have no choice but to work instead of seek potentially life saving treatment.

Yeah man, the Italian, Chinese, US, and other governments are making soooooo much $$$$$$$ from the nonexistent corona vaccine that it makes up for the Trillions of dollars they're losing from shutting down businesses, schools, travel, and tanking their markets.

All the governments taking economy hurting measures are greedy and just raking in the cash from their trillion dollar corona treatment industries

It's too bad literally no country affected by coronavirus has any doctors as smart as you to tell them it's just a cold. Maybe their economies would be doing better if they had some doctors and scientists to tell them that.

Bro... ur looking at in a real simplistic way...

I cant tell u who responsible for this shyt... or their exact motives...

But I'm old enough to have gone thru a bunch of these virus scares...

Ain't shyt happen but a bunch of panic

I never realized how easy it would be for them to control the masses and have them beg to be injected with some unknown "cure"... just because they're scared

There should be a stimulus plan, either included in that 8 billion or a separate fund, to give immediate relief to cities/businesses to funnel to their employees or citizens in the event they have to take up a few weeks at home without work and pay
