It’s a pandemic simulation “germ games” similar to military simulations aka “war games”
i think they are beneficial exercises. It’s not like pathologist and epidemiologist have to be visionaries to create these types of scenarios.. you can see over human history examples of zoonotic viruses that mutate and become transmissive amongst humans. They basically took the features of SARS, changed the name to CAPS and the animal of origin to create a realistic simulation.
