Trump has intentionally left critical positions empty across the government. There are still nearly 700 vacancies at the CDC that officials say will impact "infectious disease control and chronic disease prevention."

Health and Human Services is one of several federal agencies to maintain the freeze on their own.

they have killed all the tech conferences (waiting to see if the shoe drops on SXSW), companies told their employees work from home, people are doing video interviews only...smh

i was going to arbitrage the travel situation - looking for cheap flights, but looks like airlines already scaling back schedules which will keep fares high :sadcam: them hotel rates gotta be looking good tho :steviej:. might do a staycation in SF with the freed up occupancy

I mean I feel you but it’s not like EVERYONE is dying like the media makes it seem.

honestly that's the best thing media has done breh. better safe then sorry i feel. if media didn't take this seriously then people won't take it seriously.

and it's not the death i'm worried about. it's the incompetence of the government. we always react and it's too late. i mean we've been hearing about coronavirus since early january breh. we didn't have a test kit ready in hand. we prolly gonna rush the vaccine too.

and this thing really hasn't slowed down yet. over 3000 people are dead globally and it's just getting started in here. people without the symptom can spread the virus. world wide i have to assume it's closer to 500k because just think about it. north korea reporting 0? japan only with 300 something? that's laughable. and china completely shut down the virus? give me a break.

and just look at how south korea has dealt with the problem. they are systematic and they get the job done. and their president is even worse than friggin trump because he is a yes man to Xi and didn't travel ban. they are still letting chinese in last i checked. yet even with their hands tied behind the back they dealt the problems like pros. we are friggin amateurs and it's a global embarrassment.

and imagine some super virus 10 times the strength comes to us in the future. we are all fukked because the government is inept.

Guys, this I know for a fact. Some hospitals in Florida have around 2-10 cases they are trying to treat. Meanwhile, nurses and doctors in certain areas take 0 precaution. Not even wearing a mask. No, I am not kidding. Why?

They all believe Trump and Rush Limbaugh saying this is just a cold. A nurse I know took care of a patient and now she is sick and scared. She is asking me for guidance since I was so vocal about it. That's because the CDC and these hospitals give no protocols and no guidelines. It's all juelzing. I am honestly in shock and disbelief over the negligence and sheer ignorance of some people down here.

Don't believe me ? Call a hospital in the Panhandle or West/Central FL and ask them how they are treating patients with the virus. See what you are told.

The only reason DeSantis came out and said we had cases in FL was because some nurses wanted to blow the whistle on the cover up.

If you are in FL, do not trust anybody at all. Lotta people in FL may be infected and they do not even know.

Last night, a coworker who claims to be apolitical (white woman, you know the rest) texted me asking where I got masks and hand sanitizers from. She thought it was all a hoax until the school told her all students need to have their own

Stay Safe!

This is inevitable, bats make up like 1 in 4 mammals on this planet. They carry over 400 plus corona strains of the viruses. Can name a slew number of other animals that carry a number of viruses.

This outbreak and few others fall squarely on China and those damn exotic night markets. Certain rich people in China love eating those exotic animals. Guangzhou, where SARS came from, has one of these night markets been there a few times.

After they found SARS in I believe in the civet cat they closed the market and banned eating them. They closed off the night market but after some rich people got it reopened like 6 months to a year later.

If they reopen these markets again and I feel they most certainly will, one can expect this kind of outbreaks every 5 to 10 years.

Some of those markets need to be closed for good.

Update

We just had 1 more patient as a flight attendant in our hospital that has plenty of symptoms and she is afraid she infected all those passengers. Seriously, Florida is a zoo now. Worse is you see doctors and nurses not even wearing masks because they believed Trump and think this is just a hoax.
