My friends sister in law is an OBGYN in NY.

She texted him earlier that there was a call with 300 OBGYNs across NYP. Apparently an expecting mother’s partner or husband at NYU had COVID didn’t experience symptoms until a day or two after the birth and exposed 15 staff members on L&D to the virus. NYP is going to issue and order that only the expected mother will be allowed in the room. No partners, family, etc.

My sister’s hospital in Dallas had to cut down of visitors as well, they had to bring security in to escort one individual out who wanted to stay with their relative but weren’t allowed to by new policy.

She has said that their experience in Dallas isn’t anywhere near what is being reported out of NY at this stage but they are still planning and increasing their supplies.

I think anyone who doesn’t take it seriously by now is an idiot..at the same time fear mongering and saying most who get it are gonna die from it isn’t helping anyone’s mindset either and isn’t true . People need to stay inside and relax. No extreme thinking about this virus either way is healthy

“Shelter in place” y’all...sorry for the shytty footage but I was trying to be discreet

We should just get rid of this lockdown and treat it like the flu. Let the 4 million drop, if some people are not taking it serious. Too quote the great Vanessa Hudgens "But, like, it’s a virus, I get it. Like, I respect it, but at the same time, like, even if everybody gets it ... like, yeah, people are gonna die, which is terrible, but, like, inevitable? "

Do you predict the death rates in USA to hit like its hitting in spain, italy etc? Idk what to expect this is hard to predict
Yep, predicting is hard. New cases in the USA dropped yesterday for the first time in more than a week. Deaths have dropped slightly two days in a row. Is that a random lull, the result of better treatments, or a sign that social distancing and warming weather are making a positive difference? We don't know right now but if these trends continue another 2-3 days I think that'll be a super positive sign and in another week we'll know for sure.

The USA could only hope to flatten the curve like South Korea.

W/e South Korea did to change the trajectory of the disease in their country, the US need to mimick

Aren't they testing less? I think you need to base progress/lack of progress on the number of hospitalizations or other factors.
