Sometimes, Australia & New Zealand are considered apart of "The West" because most Australians & New Zealanders are of West/Northern European ancestry (due to British colonization), so there is a higher cultural similarity. Latin American countries are not even generally considered to be apart of "the West". The US, Canada, Europe (except Eastern Europe), Australia and New Zealand are generally "the West".

Japan and South Korea have NEVER BEEN CONSIDERED APART OF THE WESTERN WORLD. They are Asian countries and are ALWAYS considered apart of "the East". Asia is THE EAST (AKA ORIENT).
