Hold up why aren't cities instituting mandatory quarantines right now? We already know where this is going.

Just call for mandatory quarantine of NYC and that will flatten the fukking curve, everybody loves to talk about, right at the start.

What's the point of me going to work tomorrow by subway picking that shyt up and bringing it home, only for the quarantine to go in effect in two weeks :mjtf:
it is America in a nutshell. Reckless, shortsighted, ignorant, arrogant all rolled up into one. Add the kicker of being able to watch in 1080P HD what is happening around the world in the literal future you just have to keep the cosmic joke in mind while letting the heart break

quarantining new York would be a wrap. The city might not recover.

If everyone and their mother's nurse friend is saying that Italy is a complete shyt show and we're doing worse than Italy in our timeline, isn't it logical that we'll end up in the same or worse situation?

If Milan and Rome are quarantined then you better believe NYC will most likely be as well. So is it better to start the quarantine before hospitals are full and doctors have to pick and choose who gets a ventilator or wait two weeks for shyt to hit the fan?

One thing i dont understand. This isnt a hurricane. The situation is getting worse

Shouldnt the companies that produce products like hand sanitizer and toilet paper be ramping up their production? Why are they not taking advantage of this? People who work in those warehouses should be getting 80+ hrs a week.

Talked to my epidemiologist friend that I’ve been posting about in this thread since 2/29. He’s pissed and scared tonight. He says based on the U.S. lack of effective action so far that he and a colleague at Johns Hopkins believe that in a month we could be seeing 700-1,000 deaths per day in the U.S.

For context that’s about two 9/11s a week.

hour long phone call. He kept going back to the point of “people keep bracing for this like it’s a crisis on the way but they don’t realize it’s in full swing and started a while ago.” He said the time for the measures being taken this week was 2-3 weeks ago, and that there’s still not nearly enough respect for what’s about to happen here.

he also kept saying there’s literal evidence at our fingertips of Italy, which is not some third world country, and our arrogance is stupidly making us think we won’t end up like them.

He ended the call by saying this may be the most transformative event in American (and global) history since WW2.

I’m deeply ashamed of my government and a lot of my fellow citizens today brehs.
