He's right.

No, he's not. And your not either if you simply think that printing money leads to inflation.

Explain to me the economics of Japan who has printed quadrillion dollars not a trillion but a quadrillion YEN and have handed it out to private institutions and public citizens.

I'll wait for that explanation. Oh, and they want inflation.

It's OK. Landlords can easily increase rent.

In Japan, renters give key money which means you give a landlord an undetermined 3-month gift just to rent which is about the same as the rent as a gift and you don't see that money again. Printing money doesn't lead to inflation.

I rather keep this on the virus and talk about this in other threads, but what I said before is true.

It's the t printing of money that causes inflation its the velocity of money that does. That has to do with something entirely different. That can happen now without printing another dollar.

Let's keep this thread on the virus.

Anyone concerned about the effect these long term closures are going to have on poor populations? What happens when these people can't afford rent, food, etc? Elites who have the ability to close down society can weather the storm. A great deal of people can't.

Will homelessness increase? Violence?

Considering we are a welfare-adverse society this is very concerning. Even the conservative economist Mankiw is suggesting giving out a $1000 to the population...it's what we are not concerned about that we should be concerned about.

Didn't Italy suspend mortgage payments or something?

Back at work today. I work on the strip so I know I'm already never going to work from home. So far walking in the place looks empty. Usually on a Saturday morning, we have a ton of drinks stumbling around, party girls and hookers and I haven't seen any of that yet. But one bar I walked by was packed and nobody was keeping their distance

My husband is at the casino right now. I told him to take his infected ass right to a hotel. What a dikkhead. Dude can't help himself. He doesn't know how to sit the hell down :francis:

DeBlasio still has NYC public schools open :dwillhuh:
Have brought this up but it is not so cut and dry as elderly family members step in to help while parents are at work. Seems elementary should be open. Maybe 6th grade and up leave at home and hopefully they stay in the house (lol) while parents are at work

Here is Obama's head of Medicare and Medicaid in a memo he's preparing to cities and hospitals encouraging schools to stay open and for hospitals to find supplies on the black market among other things.. thread

Sad this is what has completely killed my desire to travel abroad in the next few weeks, fukk waiting in a customs line like this
Reading icu doctors' pleas for people to stay put can kill that wanderlust too..

Lines are a result of the panic and confusion trump caused with his comments while also rolling out new procedures with not enough manpower. Dallas no better

Hold up why aren't cities instituting mandatory quarantines right now? We already know where this is going.

Just call for mandatory quarantine of NYC and that will flatten the fukking curve, everybody loves to talk about, right at the start.

What's the point of me going to work tomorrow by subway picking that shyt up and bringing it home, only for the quarantine to go in effect in two weeks :mjtf:
