I get the protests. Not everyone has the luxury to have jobs and work from home. Not everyone can even get unemployment as the states unemployment offices are backed the hell up. It’s not an easy solution to say “stay at home, don’t be an idiot” nor is it a real solution just to open everything back up.

I think they are just saying that people are protesting but the number of cases are still Rising.
It's kind of just showing that it's ironic that these people are protesting the state so they can leave the house and meanwhile cases are still going up.
But I can understand your point how some people might interpret it that the cause of the spike was due to the protests/gathering but I don't really see that when I read the headline.
But again I can see how uninformed or unintelligent people can't read between the lines.

think about your scenario this happened on Friday . All these people got tested and got their results back by now. Most tests out there are still 5-7 day waiting period
