In general I haven't ever really agreed with Dr. West's opinions on Obama. It is hard for me to really get behind the position of a career academic because a person like that hardly ever has any real world experience with program execution. It is very easy to say what someone "should be" doing when you have not and probably will not ever create or organize massive social programs yourself.

You probably didn't realize he was arrested recently in New York protesting stop and frisk, has advised politicians, and presidential campaigns. I'm not going to post his accomplishments again as you can check his wikipedia or the brief synopsis i posted earlier. You don't have like Dr West Opinions, but it's disingenuous to downplay his social activism and political influence for the undeserved population. If you look at his record and consider that doing nothing I would like to know who you think is doing something cause there is a very short list of black people who are alive and more accomplished.

Cornell West been berating Obama over the killing of innocents since forever, basically calling him a war mongering tyrant, but he fails to acknowledge that under his criteria every president was a war mongering tyrant.

These white folks won't give Obama money to even fix crumbling bridges. You think they gonna give him money for some black only social programs?

Is this dude out there in the streets trying to get more people to vote in midterm elections so the president can actually have some power or is he just on his tour poppin shyt? He knows exactly why Obama can't enact more social programs that help the underprivileged but it doesn't fit his narrative so he chooses not to speak on it. As soon as Obama comes up with any program that needs financing the House is going to either shoot it down outright or say the only money that can be freed up comes from the Obamacare pot.

Furthermore I have no problem with Dr. West and I have a great deal of respect for him. I've seen him in person several times of my own volition. At one of the events (Home Depot Corporate Office) they even gave out this cd Amazon.com: Never Forget: A Journey of Revelations: Cornel West & BMWMB, Black Men Who Mean Business: Music .
