How can you have countries like Uruguay, who literally have 1% of the population that the US has, and you cant find 25 good soccer players to put a good product on the field?
US mens soccer has been an embarassment for years. All these soccer academies and they cant win a damn thing.

Uruguay devotes its entire national body to soccer. They have won 0 gold medals in any sport other than soccer in the 1920’s. They only really play soccer.

Soccer is a funny sport. You really need to start at like 4 years old and be all in on that kid being a soccer player if you really want to produce an elite guy. Look at Russia, China, India, Japan. They like soccer more than America and aren’t elite either.

It’s like Lithuanians, Serbians and Slovenians with basketball. When you are born with the ball in your crib doesn’t matter how big your country is you’re gonna produce elite players.

India I guess makes up for their ineptitude by dominating the medical community but a billion people and they'd rather dance in blankets in 115 degree weather than dedicate themselves to athletics

The women's side the US used to tout is now the reason the men will be stuck being mid :wow:

And the women getting passed by too :lolbron:

Exactly. The women's success is masking how shytty youth development is and has been forever in the US.

Some of the US players are foreigners. Some of them were born and/or raised in Europe but have an American parent or grandparent lol.

Right most of the US players worth a damn didn't come up all the way through the US domestic system.

Only Richards, McKennie & Adams.
