We still have world class talent, just need managers who are at the modern level to train the kids and upwards in the ranks, football has changed a lot since the jogo bonito times and its more passing now and our players we want to get the ball take a couple of touches and produce some magic in places on the pitch where it’s unnecessary..need a top euro manager to stay for a decade change the system
Europe is why yall falling off tbh

The over coaching is a huge reason the style has gone, too much European influence. Best players are being trained by outside influences. Brazil needs to remember they are Brazil

My thing is the general consensus is Brasileirão players aren't built for the selecinha anymore (Brazil was humiliated by James, Arias, Richard Ríos a few days ago and just lost to Viña/Arrascaeta/De la Cruz, everybody mentioned is currently playing in Brazil) but somehow Brasileirão managers are where it's at? If they're gonna have Dorival in there then let him bring some players who are used to whatever his style is

Who was humiliated against Colombia? Didnt that match end in a draw?

It was the closest thing to an identity that people had seen around here.

Now all they do is build players for exporting. No more wings, those go for cheap, pump out more dumb forwards. Then the agents get those players in the NT to raise their value, and when they need a win, this happens.

No coach can fix this. The national team gotta call up a good team, fukk the extra stuff.

CBF is too corrupt to ever let that happen, so into the Larry Holmes Gardens we go. :flabbynsick:
Maaan, it's depressing as hell that so many south american countries suffer from this same bullshyt, it also an important reason why club level futbol has gone to absolute shyt as well.

But I do think a coach can "fix" it in a way. Agents taking over and a Federation being too corrupt to do anything about it was created by Argentinians, and look at them now. Still as corrupt as ever and with their agents poisoning the whole region. But at the end of the day, it took them getting lucky with Scaloni finding a midfield that could play modern futbol to get out of their nightmare.

And they were this close of getting rid of Scaloni too, that Copa win in 2021 changed everything for them (they played like shyt that whole tourney but it didn't matter, the curse was over :dead:).

That is why I was so excited for y'all to get Carletto. It was the perfect squad for him :francis:

Argentina's current run proves you don't have to follow the European model

I was shocked Munoz wasn’t called up. Also Gabriel not starting also showed me they weren’t serious. But the midfield was god awful. Bunch of passion merchants. Might as well have brought Joelinton too if they want mid table physicality

It was not a bad starting 11, Raphinha is excellent at right wing and Rodrygo ahead of Martinelli on the left is not wrong, but Endrik should’ve been taken off at 60-70 minutes, with Martinelli coming on the left and Rodrygo central. Savinho on for Raphinha and then do something different in midfield…

Modern futbol relies heavily in your RB/LB being able to help and be threats on the offensive end. Brazil used to create the greatest players at those positions. How the hell they haven't had one worth a damn since Marcelo (and even then, Marcelo was limited because he was ass on the defensive end). That's as brazilian as brazillian can be and it correlates with what works in Europe and around the world. Same as having skillful people in the midfield that can pass and dominate the ball with all kinds of pressure. Were are those brazilians players?

If you watch brazilian teams play, there's no flash nor anything exciting about them. There's not a lot being "lost" in Europe, it's not like they go there and comeback completely different. They just don't create the players needed to succeed in today's scenarios. And if they do have them, they get lost in the shuffle and we (impartial viewers, I'm from Chile) don't see them in the national squad.

Tite had an identity that wasn't the most exciting to watch: focus on keeping the 0 on your own goal and let the talented people on offense score in the few changes they gonna create out of sheer talent, which wasn't very different from Scolari's formula in 2002. lt didn't make people fall in love with the team but it was still an identity. And Brazil was tough as fukk to beat for 6 years. Somehow they don't even have that. It's back to 2014-2016 pathetic ball.

All the midfield (and RB/LB) do is try to play long ball at this point, after Nández was sent off and it looked like that Simpsons football scene where they passing it to each other doing nothing is cause they don't know how to dribble or make any line-breaking runs

Their attack with Messi + 1 striker and 1 winger is different, I'll give you that, but both defensively and their midfield is as European futbol as it gets. That's been Scaloni's whole thing as their manager, and why the Argentinian press wanted him out and hire Gallardo up until 2021. It wasn't until after the 2021 Copa win that they started to look more cohesive and they went to 2022 playing their best ball.

But this Copa they've been as sorry and "effective" as England/France :francis:

It's depressing as fukk to watch. How the hell do you go back to Dunga ball after the disaster that it was, and it wasn't even that long ago :mindblown:
