Brazil hasn’t been that Brazil since crashing out in 1982 to Italy. That match changed the way they play football which was brute ball with magic from a forward.

They stopped producing top level attackers too. It’s just Vini and sometimes Martinelli at this point. That’s been due to Europe.
Shouldn't you make the cut at 1986 ? I didnt watch that team but they always say that it was one of the best Brazil.

Anyway, I've been feeling that Brazil football has been more a PR thing than anything else since the 90s. My first football memory is the 94 WC final and I was a Brazil fan then though I didn't care about football at all.

I remember in elementary school, one year we had the end of year event and teacher had us dressed as the Brazil team.

For the 98 WC, there was the Nike airport or the McDonalds ads or the Joga Bonito ads of the 2002 WC. But looking back, the reality is that that team never played that way.

They were favorites in ‘82 and would have advanced had they drew Italy, iirc. Instead they went war and lost.

and like @frush11 said, South American football is extremely physical.

86 Brasil was 2 extremes. It was either inexperienced or :flabbynsick: Zico Falcao Socrates Beach legend Junior were all 30+. Zico was used as an impact sub.
