LA will have to make a decision......Do you save the cap space for Walker or trade Russ for Hield/Turner?

If LA does trade for Turner/Hield....do you try to get a 3rd team involved, include Walker in the trade, and try to acquire a young talent like M.Bridges

Example trade:

To Indiana- Russ and (2) 1st rd picks (top 6 protected)

To Charlotte- Walker

To LA- Hield, Turner and Bridges (Sign/Trade)

not giving up 2 picks with Russ. price went down especially as the season progressed. he's a free agent. rather just keep him since it's half the season. bridges gonna get suspended like 20 games anyways

This deal doesn't make the Lakers the Championship contender this season. And Myles is a free agent after this season. Why would they do that?

If you let Russ' contract expire he becomes a wasted asset.....Let contract Russ' contract expire and re-sign Lonnie, now what?....all of the cap space is gone.

How much do you think Lonnie will want?

I think they will have 35 million.

Because you might lose Lonnie for nothing...And the young player doesn't have to be Bridges. It could be another player on a different team...My trade was just an example.......As for Bridges....He is an elite defender and a very good shooter....I believe he needs a change of scenery. The Charlotte Hornets are a toxic franchise.
They can easily re-sign Lonnie. If they want Bridges, they can just sign him. Nobody is going to though because he is toxic. This isn't even wishful thinking; it's lunacy.

Miles and Lonnie have the exact same career three point percentage and Bridges is definitely not an elite defender.

russ isn't an asset which is why you're attaching 2 picks to him in your hypothetical. either way charlotte is not giving up bridges for lonnie walker. there's a reason why they haven't cut ties with him. when the dust settles they're going to resign him to a pretty hefty contract

Lonnie will be in the $10-15 million range at the absolute most.

Malik Monk was terrific last season and $6 million was his best offer. Nobody is breaking the bank for Lonnie.

Anything over 10 million would be an overpay.

Lets say you get Lonnie walker at 10 million and Kuz at 18 million that just leaves you 7 million and the TPMLE.

That's not enough to contend.

The Lakers need to do their free agent shooting through a trade this season.

Russ' expiring contract is an asset. Assets come in multiple forms (Players, Draft picks, Cap space)....Indy could sign or trade for a FA with the additional cap space...And as I said in my previous post... The young player doesn't have to be Bridges.....I'm just concerned that the Lakers are going to lose Walker the same way they lost Monk.

Nobody is getting 2 picks now. Lakers just going to sign Kyrie (at a slight discount for 2 years) and Turner in the offseason and try to keep Walker/Brown/Schroder/Gabriel/Bryant at least another season. The Lakers are better than their record now that roles and guys have returned from injury/into form.

They can't afford Kyrie and Turner.

Why would they bring back Kuzma, especially at that crazy price? :mjlol:
