I don’t think it’s Father Time, seems more related to poor shot selection to me.

With that said, bringing him back off the bench while he rehabs isn’t a bad idea….
Well, yeah, that's Father Time.

He can't get to the same spots like he used to, and that's a large part of the reason why he takes the shots he does.

Lol bro stop

Fadeaway 3s
Step back 3s

That’s poor shot selection, him getting closer to the basket is not an issue. He’s legitimately taking terrible shots.

Even in the game against the clippers last week.. they just happen to be dropping that night.

He's taking those shots partly because they're the ones that require the least amount of physical effort. I mean, it's pretty damn self-explanatory why he carefully chooses when to exert his energy (as evidence by him not playing defense like he used to); he simply can't play the way he did back when he was 27. He can't run up and down the floor like he used to, he can't take bumps in the paint like he used to, and he can't drive like he used to. Those instances when he does are far and few between more than they've ever been.

This is exacerbated by the Lakers not having the best spacing and shooters, which forces him into a position where he has to overcompensate to make up for that.

His BBIQ is as sharp as ever, it's just that he understands his body can't run parallel to that.

He's not taking "terrible shots" for the sake of.

It's Father Time.

Agreed with everything, up until, “he just can’t run up and down the floor like he used to”

That man can definitely still run up and down the floor and jump out the gym. It’s not even arguable, are we watching the same LeBron James?

He’s definitely not 27 year old LeBron but thats neither here nor there. He’s still (and can still) get to the basket whenever he wants, and overpowers most of his defenders with ease.

He has to chill on jacking contested three point shots.

The difference between then and now is he used to be able to do it all game long. He can still do almost anything he used to be able to do, but he can no longer sustain that level of exertion for nearly the same amount of time. He wants to save it for crucial moments or games but that doesn't work with the construction of this team. He can still be that guy at pivotal times but his days of being able to carry night in and night out are over.

I mean ...... He was superman for nearly 2 decades. NO ONE in the history of the league was able to do what he did for that long, and now he's mortal who is still a superstar and top 10 player in the NBA.

i think his shot selection has alot to do with the lack of foul calls he's getting when driving (which is infuriating), and the lack of spacing on the floor, along with the foot bothering him

His 3pt shooting has always kinda been like this.. he'll have a month of shooting 43% followed by another month of shooting 30%. Standard LeBron imo
