:ehh:So far I enjoy it. Typical Conway jewels and blicky talk. Beans need to stay far away from the fukking mic with his cracked skin ass voice.

I know dude got shot in the lungs, but goddamn just enjoy the Kanye bag:francis:

I mean all of them together on WWCD didn't even sell 10k the first week. I don't imagine GDMM will sell very much, but no one really cares anymore. Albums are just promotional vehicles for merch, touring, and other revenue streams.

Sales in 2022 is super irrelevant except only the highest tier household name artists
I wouldn’t say super irrelevant :hhh:

I should have said for the purposes of discussing music or the quality of music on forums. Everyone back in the day on :hamster: used to talk about sales as a measure of quality (largely due to 50 and how he framed that argument) until 2007 when the Graduation/Curtis thing happened and people kind of stopped caring as much.

It still doesn't explain the disconnect between their fanbase /respect and the actual numbers.

It’s crazy how this era is. Dudes give away their best tracks for free over X amount of years before their album drop. So much dope content just lost in the shuffle. I just think of how some of our goats albums would turn out in this era. Imagine All Eyez on Me being a mixtape leading up to his death row debut. Illmatic a sampler. Reasonable Doubt being jay debut mixtape.

I hate this new era of the way music is put out. shyt rarely feels special at all.

Drake fans were mixed on his debut album, but loved the second album. Cole fans were mixed on the first two albums but loved the third. Kendrick fans were satisfied out the gate with GKMC. The expectations and trends mixtapes set for an artist can derail fan reactions to the official label shift. I def think that happened with Conway.

The progression of a fanbase is pretty key and tied to how artists release music. Maybe Conway dropped too much stuff and people moved on. Or maybe he dropped too much stuff and now they can’t be satisfied. Dunno. But at this point I’m not sure he gets another label deal, unless it’s Empire.

He currently has a deal with Empire for 2-3 more albums. Beyond that I’m not sure he wants another major deal. I don’t think he does.

John Woo Flick goes crazy. I think if that track dropped a few years ago I would be more inclined to be like fukk yes. I guess I took for granted that Conway crafted the signature Griselda sound & to have a track like that in 2022 is special :myman: I just need more time of that from Con! fukk a crossover track. Conway is Conway. To this I’ll say he probably has 5+ verses better than anybody over the last few years. Bar for bar :whew:
