most people who should lead, don't. not because they don't know how but because they know what comes with it. people who end up in positions of leadership end up there by taking it. they are also quick to avoid accountability that comes with it.

I'm in a leadership position in the military, but I honestly try my best to avoid that shyt because it makes me nervous knowing that it's several people under me that are looking to me for guidance in a field that is so broad, that I know that I can never ALWAYS have the right answer (unless you have decades of experience).

I definitely can lead, but the above, as well as my natural shyness makes me...shy away from it.

I'm in a leadership position in the military, but I honestly try my best to avoid that shyt because it makes me nervous knowing that it's several people under me that are looking to me for guidance in a field that is so broad, that I know that I can never ALWAYS have the right answer (unless you have decades of experience).

I definitely can lead, but the above, as well as my natural shyness makes me...she away from it.

The weight of your position and questioning if you will make the right choice is what will make you an even better leader. My advice is to always have people close to you that can challenge your decision so you know you've made the right one. Otherwise you'll have decision paralysis and won't make your mind up.

I should amend my statement to say that it's something I had to challenge within myself. (i.e. I wasn't saying that "it's okay for Black men to prefer lighter-skinned women".)

I love women of all types. I'd 100% be a simp if I wasn't also a cheap b*stard with some dignity.

But I've often had to question why I'm sometimes more attracted to lighter-skinned, mixed-looking Black women (as well as Latina, South Asian, Arab, etc.) over dark-skinned women.

Part of it, I think, is because of that aspect of being socialized to accept features shared by Europeans as more attractive.

Confronting those biases uncovered a newfound appreciation for darker-skinned Black women with strong ethnic features.

I think a lot of people on both sides get their assumptions of the other from the internet. Majority of black non Americans I met in real life been cool people.
