I grew up in the hood, which is now a gentrified hood with gangs still lingering, and I’m square. Certain behaviors weren’t acceptable in my household, and we went to camp every summer, instead of being allowed to roam the streets.

Honestly, we need more James Evans style parenting in the hood.

I grew up with that type of parenting in South Jamaica Queens with divorced(but still active) parents and I turned out great and never committed a single crime.

It's true that environment matters but not more than parenting and instilled values. My father grew up in inner city Detroit and my mom grew up in a poor Gullah community in South Carolina but they had strong values instilled in them that they wounded up passing on to me.

It will not fix things overnight obviously but it will easily alleviate many of our social ills.

We don't need some faux armed revolution to get Reparations. It's a political play and a numbers game. This not something that will happen overnight or even in the next election cycle but folks got to keep pushing no matter how long it takes.

Right now we need folks to

1. get educated and agree on what the Reparations policy should be
2. expand the message and court supporters
3. be ready to exercise whatever political leverage we have to move the ball forward on this issue, (aka holding out for the edits to H.R. 40 Dr. Darity suggested, or present an alternative to H.R. 40, support Reparationist groups, support the CA Reparations Committee etc)
4. let politicians know that this is the issue we are standing on as a Block and if you are not helping us move forward with this then we won't support you
5. BE SERIOUS AND GROW THE FUKK UP!! playtime is over. ADOS folks are in the fourth quarter down by 6 with a minute 50 seconds left on the game clock and no timeouts. Time to grow up and stop thinking everything is a goddamn game to be played on social media.

both groups house a good amount of incels and femcels, who don’t date anyone, but desire someone who ignores/overlooks them lol. Both groups have the same stories of all these negative experiences with their black counterparts rejecting them, while having good experiences with the whites. Both groups complain that the other nerdy group prefers cacs and Asians or is chasing hood guys or ig thots.

There’s obviously a disconnect between both groups. They need to date each other but I low key think they just aren’t attracted to each other, that or for whatever reason they can’t seem to find each other.
