Considering their tiny population are Jamaicans the most influential people ever?

The African-ness or European-ness of AA music
Came via ...............AA's :francis:
The African Origins of Jazz

Schuller writes: “The African slave’s adjustment to the white man’s music consisted precisely of translating these polymetric and polyrhythmic points of emphasis into the monometric and monorhythmic structures of European music. Syncopation, preceding or following the main beats, was the American Negro’s only workable compromise. It left the Negro with a vestige of his love for cross-rhythms and cross-accentuation; at the same time it enabled him to carry on the tradition within the white man’s musical structures.”

this negates nothing i've said:dwillhuh:
You can't have something (africa) be the catalyst of your music and claim it's a independent creation. It's like hispanics claiming reggaetone as original when it's just spanish reggae or UK people claming Grime as original when it's just UK rap.

Your music is just African.

cats like @IllmaticDelta and @KidStranglehold have been coming in here with to much heat for weak rebuttals like this

Your argument only works if you look at AA's as being non african. Other than that it doesnt make much sense

If thats the case reggae doesnt belong to jamaicans than

Reggae belongs to africa, doesn't belong to Jamaica:yeshrug:

People recognize Jamaica as the home of reggae though

:yeshrug: Jamaicans were literally the pastors, teachers, lawyers, doctors nurses, in a good amount of British territories.

If we keep it a buck- the reasons Ghanaians Nigerians Sierraleonean speak with similar accents and broken English is because of the indentured workers, ex slaves who moved to west africa from the carribean Jamaica being the most influential.

If AA were more influential in that aspect back then those countries would sound like Liberians
