he is talented, i think people are annoyed because hes risen too quickly

ehhh...people are always annoyed when a fighter rises "too quickly" though. most of the time those fighters gets beaten back down and those 'annoyed' people celebrate it. but other times, guys like cain, bones, gsp, etc...truly great fighers, champion-level fighters, break through that shyt and live up to the hype...and then most of those people who were just 'annoyed' by the guy turn into full-fledged haters who downplay everything the guy they're rooting against does...even when he wins.

that's just in general though.

as far as mcgregor goes, i can see an argument against him getting a title shot so early. but then again, aldo has beaten down all his best challengers in the division. connor is the new blood. exciting, dynamic blood. he's been beating guys in very impressive fashion, his technique is on point, his mic game gets people amped...when it comes down to it, it was either him or frankie edgar...and i think frankie was already fighting faber at that point. to be honest, as much an aldo/edgar fight would be dope, as a fan i'd actually rather see jose and connor fight. and from the ufc's perspective, that's the fight that makes the most money. :manny:

i also understand why he got the shot so quick but in all honesty if mcgregor goes out there and gets humiliated that just kills the buzz for a rematch

Yeah his stand up is dope but he is a typical karate fighter, similar to his stable mate Gunnar Nelson, and Gunnar got exposed by Rick Story. Karate fighters like Lyoto, connor and Gunnar Nelson, use foot work as their prime mode of defense. The problem with that is when someone can cut off the ring they become like fish in a bucket when their back is against the cage..
Reminds me of Raymond Daniels and his fights against Valtellini and Hollzken,

well, yeah, of course it would. but they're not putting all their eggs into the 2nd fight. it's a bird in the hand...the ufc's got a huge fight, they gotta get the first one done and go from there.

but if aldo wins, he fights the next guy (whoever that is) and connor has to win a couple to have another crack...that's a storyline they can run with, obviously provided both fighters keep winning. and if connor beats aldo, then it's an immediate rematch...the new phenom who took out old blood vs. the refocused, long-time champion coming to take his belt back.

the options are there, no matter what happens. first things first though...
