I honesly haven't watched martin more than a few episodes. I was too young during its original run and never bothered with the reruns for some reason. Does it stand the test of time? If the entire series is up on Netflix i'm gonna marathon this week

Martin was an hilarious show, but A Different World was a much better program.

My Wife and Kids doesnt hold a candle to any of these shows, so I dont know why you all keep mentioning it.
this is untrue. Must See TV started before Martin aired. Cheers and Seinfeld were already a juggernaut.
And Family Matters was a TV show that aged horribly.
The only thing I disagree with is the overrating of Living Single.

Niccas really disrespecting A Different World tho? I can't argue with it having any spot in the top 5. It was a movement at one point. It's deserves props off longevity alone.
Julia was the first primetime TV show that featured a black actress in the lead and as something other than a domestic. It starred Diahann Carol as a nurse and single mother and aired for 3 years on NBC.
