I didn't. I had a long night and fell asleep at 6AM. Read my original post. I was confused as to why the turkey was in there so early in the first place because it doesn't take that long to cook. I'm the one that puts the meat in the oven every year.Why would you go to sleep knowing there was a turkey in the oven

The only meat that goes in the oven in the morning (thanksgiving, christmas or New Years....any holiday) is pernil which is pork shoulder. It takes a really long time to cook well inside and then get the crispy crust outside. The chicken and the turkey go in at about 12-1.
We eat late here. Typically 8 or after.
