i can appreciate that some of them are good, and a person should be allowed to go for 18 years of career stability if they earn it. but 18 years is a good compromise that would have eliminated all these fukking career criminals like mcconnell and pelosi, well before they turned 80

plus its realistic. given that its unlikely to happen at all, id settle for 18

in 2018 Feinstein had $21M and spent $17.8m to De Leon's $1.5M raised and $1.2M spent, she "only" won 54% to 45% for De Leon. a lot of Cali got the message she needed to go, but you can't make up that gap between her name recognition, reach, old heads and her massive amount of resources.

The game is rigged, you don't have the money, you aint winning. It's the same reason cats like Bloomberg can jump in a race 2/3 of the way through and make noise - money & name talks more than content of character/message/politics.

This is like saying fans are to blame entirely for who they vote for on all star ballots. When you don’t know much about someone, you will go with name recognition. That’s why people often ignore challengers because their name won’t get heard unless you make them a thing.
