What a joke

I have sympathy for her as a human..but if she cannot even hold conversation then she was already unfit to serve quite a while ago. What are they waiting for? For her to not be able to remember her own name? Whats the standard being used for mental capacity?

Last time I checked there are constitutional amendments to force presidents out of office if they are unfit you telling me there's no similar laws for these old asf senators congress people?!?:what: the system needs to get redone...

I initially entered this thread ready to go in on Diane but after reading about the letters, interviews and her husband death I’m more sympathetic towards her. While it’s clear regardless of what senator Tim kaine is saying, she is clearly deteriorating and needs to step down.

I just assume they will let her play it out until 2024
the same staffers and colleagues calling her out now are the same ones happy to carry her around like weekend at bernies :russ: she been on airplane mode for at least the past 6 years. only hold up has likely been the search for her replacement because its not like the voters have a say on that particular seat anyways

California voters should NOT have re-elected her in either 2012 or 2018 (especially 2018). She wasn't even endorsed by the California Democratic Party in 2018. Most voters just vote based on name recognition.

You can't always blame the politicians. Sometimes, voters are either stupid, not paying attention - or both :yeshrug:

Which age or term limit would you all like?

A hard limit might effect even sharp old ones like Bernie?
Maybe have them do a certain mental test after a certain age lol

she didn't vote for herself millions of times. blame the voters. always blame the voters.
nah, thats just not accurate anymore

the democrats and republicans are basically cartels/monopolies that control their sides of the aisle. it takes a pretty massive amount of money and influence to run for these national seats, and they're constantly throwing huge amounts of resources behind the incumbent

let me know when everyone in the primary has equal resources, then it will be the voters' fault

18 years in office. 9 congressional terms, 3 senate terms

i can appreciate that some of them are good, and a person should be allowed to go for 18 years of career stability if they earn it. but 18 years is a good compromise that would have eliminated all these fukking career criminals like mcconnell and pelosi, well before they turned 80

plus its realistic. given that its unlikely to happen at all, id settle for 18

so now voters don't have a choice but to vote for the 88 year old woman because she has the most money? so we're not responsible for anything then. even though the cali democratic party didn't endorse her they are still the reason why she was elected because voters don't have a say.

breh, you cant just get in the race against these fukking people and be on any kind of remotely equal footing :dead:its barriers to entry

look at what the DNC did in 2016.the democratic base literally had no choice over who was going to be the nominee. if bernie hadn't bucked them, and gave off the appearance of a contest, it would have been more blatant how shockingly corrupt that was. he actually did them a favor by masking it

anyone who rolled out against her would've been crushed

the cali dems didn't need to pour a lot of money into protecting her seat because it went without saying. if they had to put together an effort to defend her, they would immediately - whoever running against her would lose
