My first Godard film. I think I can appreciate what he was going for and I dont mind the episodic format, but the ending was so abrupt, it kind of hurt the film IMO.

And I must say, criticisms of him being pretentious are kind of warranted :patrice:

But let me fall back because I've only seen one of his films so far

Finally watched Midsommar, really liked it, definitely an homage to the Wicker Man and had to take place in a universe where that film was never made cause I woulda been :hubie:at the invitation to go to anything like that

Is Florence Pugh the new Kate Winslet:patrice:

Also saw The Wildling on Netflix ... It was ok :ehh:

I see @Zero is getting to some good shyt. Kitano one of the actual greatest directors alive.

Kids Return
Kikujiro
Zatoichi

:wow::wow::wow:

His other films are great too, plus the fukkery of the Autoreiji (Outrage) trilogy.

Sonatine, Dolls and A Scene At The Sea as well. Between his Yakuza flicks and his arthouse flicks Takeshi low-key kept Japanese cinema alive for a long time.

Got ALL these joints downloaded and they'll be included in my next batch of films to watch. I really enjoy his work. Sonatine had me confused at first but I knew there was something there

You're up for a lot of dope stuff. Plus those awesome soundtracks from Joe Hisaishi and Suzuki Keiichi.

When you've seen The Departed so many times it's kinda hard to separate the two. But this was really good. :ehh:
