One of the front runners for Best Foreign Language film and for a good reason. It's an intelligent comedy drama about a jokester father who starts to disrupt his daughter's professional life because he fears she might not enjoy life enough. The movie never lets go of the down-to-earth starkness of their relationship as the hilarity and madness of their disruptive lives continuously increases. It also contains at least two strong contenders for the single best scene of the year, but singling them out would feel unfair to all the other great little scenes sprawled throughout this. My only issue that at its rather immense length of 165 minutes, its execution gives you more the idea that you are watching a tv-miniseries in full than an actual film, and the thought never escapes that it would probably play better that way. Regardless, it's a great and smart piece of entertainment advisable to anyone who is tired of movies telling them directly what they want you to think or feel.
