watched a 15 minutes film named Odessa about a chance meeting of an astronaut's last night on earth and making friends with some random guy in a bar before embarking on a long space mission. Took me a minute to realize the producer plagiarized a Twilight Zone/ Rod Serling episode.

Odessa - NYU Thesis Film

Short film about an astronaut who spends her last night in NYC before leaving on a 135 year journey to the distant planet of Odessa.

ODESSA is a short film written and directed by Cidney Hue for her thesis project at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. It is being produced under the guidance of NYU professor and director Deborah Reinisch and the support of other talented members of the NYU faculty. Odessa will be shot on location, at night in New York City during the first week in December. The film is made possible through the efforts of its excellent crew (http://odessathefilm.com/crew) and the talents of a stunning cast (http://odessathefilm.com/cast). Please click through for pictures and bios of the wonderful filmmakers and actors involved.

Odessa is the story of mission specialist, Shannon Wendell, who spends one last night in New York City with a stranger before she embarks on a 135 year long journey to the distant planet of Gliese 581 g, or Odessa. (Think: Lost in Translation with a space

"A month before departing on a round trip interstellar flight that will take forty years, Commander Douglas Stansfield meets and falls in love with Sandra, a Space Agency employee. Both realize the romance is doomed. Stansfield is to be kept in suspended animation for most of the mission. When he returns, he'll still be in his thirties, while Sandy will be an old woman. Nevertheless, she promises to wait for him. Upon his return, Sandy is notified and hurries to see him. It's a moment they have both envisioned for years. But this is the Twilight Zone... and they're both in for the shock of their lives."[1]

Awesome flick. I can understand why Universal did what they did with it though because it's an insane movie and not easy to sell but man is it dope from start to finish. Love Patrick Wilson, hope he makes it into something really big one day.

Great cast. Chris Pine is insane, Jessica Alba is gorgeous, and Ed Helms is hilarious. It's a movie where one insane thing leads to another insane thing and just keeps going.

Two Days, One Night

The Dardennes brothers are legit, man. And Marion Cotillard delivered arguably the best performance of the year.
