6/10, it runs long, mostly due to the red scare sensationalized storyline from the loser's perspective (zee Russians). They could have kept that. There is definitely a whole lot of camp and hokeyness. Dennis Quaid is doing mostly an impression.

The real star is Penelope Ann miller as the missus. Yes, she a floozy for most of the movie, but becomes more later in the movie. The third act is all over the place.

I know Meni Suvari cussed out her assistants, night and day, when she found out she lost the lead to old ass Penelope.

P.S. I did the pen pal thing myself back in second grade(1986). You know those parents told that little girl to stop crying and write a nice letter to the president for watching her goldfish. Girl, you know he old.

Refuse to watch this, Jon Voight is right wing nut and Reagan doesn't deserve to be painted in a positive light whatsoever

I don’t know why I watched it, but I finally watch a Purge movie. I don’t even think it was the first one.

But my thing is, how the fukk do you get caught out in the purge. :dwillhuh:

Just go home. MFs be at the grocery store an hour before it starts or just roaming around running errands and shyt and then get caught out there in the middle of some BS.

I remember the sequel being better than the first one.

The first one was with Ethan Hawke and Cersei Lannister.

The second had Frank Grillo, and also the third.

Suspense morphs into silliness :skip:, but the performance of Josh Hartnett carries the film.

The movie was silly and ridiculous but fairly entertaining. I was always engaged.

Still making my way through movies I've had in my queue for a while. I like both actors, so got around to checking this out. There were some funny moments throughout, but the film leans heavily on the 2 carrying the comedic load. Thought it could have benefited from a more well rounded cast, as the couple moved from hijink to hijink.

I Like Movies still isn't streaming anywhere in America.

But....

Remember the movie Marquee that was making the rounds in the internet of how Lost Boys, Robocop, and Predator were all at the same theatre. Kevin Smith made a movie about movie hopping between those caliber of movies.

Hopefully it has a better ending than I Like Movies.
