Had promise, but ultimately failed to rise above 'merely interesting' only because Elba was involved, albiet with some poor writing. Generic as hell.

Had so much potential and it just didn't work, it was like a student film. Didn't help that it was extra Canadian, while being set in Canada.
It's a good vehicle for Rachel Sennot. While not a straight tragedy, it has tragic elements mixed in with gallows humor. Definitely a non traditional film.

And I also thought the setting of Toronto and Niagra Falls worked for the movie, it allowed it to breathe while the protagonist was going thru an existential crisis.

Movie has a premise that I think would have been better served really leaning into the comedy. Lot's of spy shenanigans going on, with the mystery angle, comedy, and action not always working together. Gets a bit too cute, even though I mostly like Howard and Rockwell in the lead roles.

This movie is such a masterpiece, every frame was like a painting

Breh I threw this on like 1am a couple months back. One of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. Can’t remember the last time a movie caught me off guard.

I just ordered the bluray/dvd combo of Star Wars Rogue One for one of my younger brothers who's a Star Wars fan but only likes espisodes 1-6, which I understand cuz the rest suck, but he's never seen Rogue One which was the last GOOD Star Wars, so I'm getting him that plus some other stuff for his birthday

I will probably watch Rogue One again tomorrow after the Indian Fever/Las Vegas Aces game

breh you you tripping
:dead:

are you a Star Wars fan ? Not the new goofy ones by Disney like The Force Awakens, but I'm talking about episodes 1-6 ?

I grew up on the og trilogy. Rogue isn't terrible, I think the last act is pretty good. Up until that point it's probably one of the most boring Star Wars movie.

The newer trilogy is terrible overall tho so it makes Rogue look that much better.

Watched it last night on Netflix. Film lived up to the hype, really one of the best things I've seen in a while.

one of the best Godzilla movies ever made, and I'm a Godzilla stan, from the very first one that came out in like 1956, and the 60s and 70s versions. One of my favorite old school Godzilla movies is Godzilla vs Mecha Godzilla pt 1
I'm glad so many people appreciate Godzilla Minus One, I'm copping the physical copy when it's available in America, even tho it's on Netflix which I have. I love how serious Godzilla Minus One was, it's not for small children, I'm glad it didn't have any funny parts, loved the way Godzilla looked, and loved the characters, especially the main character. Didn't it win some Oscar's or is nominated ?

I don't think Rogue was good because the Disney ones were trash, I liked that it was a prequel to A New Hope, it connected all the dots to transition into A New Hope.

Of course Vader is that nicca, he did his thing in all his parts, not just the kill scene, but I liked how it wasn't centered on Vader, it was centered on the storyline. And it had enough action for me.

Not to spoil it but I also liked how the main characters and other characters died, made the rebellion vs the new galactic empire look more authentic

I liked the blind Asian character too

don't be too hard on Rogue One my fellow Film Room Coli breh, lol
