I don't know how this snuck by me but I loved it. I only wish I had subs for this because some of the English and Irish accents were p thick.

Yasmin though :noah:

Don't get the praise. Not a bad movie, just not the GOAT horror I heard it was. It is the best looking 4k film I've seen tho :whoo:.

At times I didn't know if I should :russ: or :stopitslime: at some of the things ole girl was able to do that would be impossible in the real world. It's no Jurassic Park. There's not much here other than gators killing folks but it was worth the watch.

I liked The Strangers more because it had a more realistic vibe to it. The people in You're Next were too stupid. There weren't any jump scares for me. Loved seeing girl get her Ellie on.
I knew something was up when dude & his girl sat back and watched while Ax Man tried to kill girl after bursting through the window.

it's influence on helping create the psychological sub-genre in horror...gotta remember this came out in 1980, 40 years of horror flicks taking from this and adding on will make it not resonate as much, but in general, some folks may find it a tough watch as other Kubrick films have that affect as well.

You saw this when it first came out?

Love and Monsters- Pretty entertaining flick for what seemed to be a smaller budgeted movie :ehh:. Some nice designs for the mutated creatures and almost works as a sort of family adventure comedy. Doesn't really go too hardcore with the action or comedy, but has a light charm about it.

stephen king hates it. i never read the book but this may not even be the best way to present the story. i still think it has some amazing scenes but i dont really like rewatching it.

Actually wasn't bad. Liked it more than the 2018 one. Wouldn't watch either again tho. I know people are disappointed about the lack of character development or storytelling but I didn't care because they always ruin it with the story and Laurie Strode just needs to die already. My favorite scene was when the kids at the playground were picking on Michael.

Very influential. Great atmosphere. The deaths weren't anything special but the simplicity worked. The lead girl was boring.

She dies at the beginning of Halloween resurrection, they just retconned her back.

The chick in Nightmare on Elm street dies at the end of the third movie, what happens on New Nightmare is Freddie Kruger goes after the actress in real life.
