Don't get the praise. Not a bad movie, just not the GOAT horror I heard it was. It is the best looking 4k film I've seen tho .
You saw this when it first came out?it's influence on helping create the psychological sub-genre in horror...gotta remember this came out in 1980, 40 years of horror flicks taking from this and adding on will make it not resonate as much, but in general, some folks may find it a tough watch as other Kubrick films have that affect as well.
stephen king hates it. i never read the book but this may not even be the best way to present the story. i still think it has some amazing scenes but i dont really like rewatching it.

She dies at the beginning of Halloween resurrection, they just retconned her back.
Actually wasn't bad. Liked it more than the 2018 one. Wouldn't watch either again tho. I know people are disappointed about the lack of character development or storytelling but I didn't care because they always ruin it with the story and Laurie Strode just needs to die already. My favorite scene was when the kids at the playground.
