We already saw this playout with Kavanaugh. Unless Dems have explosive new evidence, the Republicans have already decided to let him keep going.
Ideally you'd want to make it an election issue.
There's no reason to trust American voters to do shyt except vote for clowns.
I'm not against impeachment per se but I doubt it makes any difference in terms of Trump's support. This isn't the 1970s and political tribalism is on a different level than it was then.
