Which is crazy because he barely did anything

Man is cooked in the ring. They are going to have to make sure every opponent he has is able to carry the match or bump and sell like their life depends on it because it’s going to be a real chore trying to make him look good.

I brought it up in a thread when Punk was with AEW, but they (AEW at the time, WWE now), are going to need a plan for post Punk and not have him go over too many younger talent. Might as well get all the marquee matches out of the way now (IMO Punk should have won the Rumble last night) before either a) father time takes over or b) he transforms into Sourpuss Punk.

Yeah that's what AEW should have started doing after he returned from his first injury.

When he got that second injury (along with brawl out), that should have been their highest priority creatively because it was obvious the guy was made out of glass at that point.

WWE is lucky in the fact that they got the chance to bring him in knowing that from day one.

Punk may want to work with young people and help bring the next generation along (at least that's what he claimed when he went to AEW), but that's not where the money is going to be with him yet in WWE.

Most of that next generation for WWE is in NXT or recently called up so they are nowhere close to being able to be elevated to top of the card status. Unless we're going to count 35+ as young now. Which if that's the case, Gunther at 36 is at that level now. No one else really fits the profile on the Raw brand, but Julius Creed definitely has the potential to get there from an in-ring standpoint.

Jesus, that's an old ass Raw roster, almost all of their best under 30 and under 35 main roster talent is on Smackdown. They need to balance that out with the next draft and the NXT call ups.

Really? Mu fukka wouldn’t even have made it to the final 2. :gucci:
It would make sense if he pulled a King and hid under the ring. Idk why I thought Miz did that

EDIT: forgot HornSSwoggle did that too

It’s not even the same situation though. Cm Punk didn’t exist in WWE’s plans five months ago, they were doing just fine being hot as they’ve ever been with a lot of talent over af.

Needing post plans for a guy who hasn’t had a singles match sounds extra.

Punk's health and behavioral record since returning to wrestling means you always need to have a backup plan for if things go off the rails.
